I'm deaf and I thought I would ask you all....
What is your favorite sounds, sights, and smell at Disney?
Sound...possibly the part with the "Pretty Good Sure as Your Born" song in Splash Mountain.
I really love the smell by the Main Street Bakery.
I love the sight of the front gate when we first get there.
for sound I'll say: the backround music on Main Street USA..
for smell I'll go with: World Showcase during the Food and Wine Festival
and for sight ...: this one is funny but.. that first entrance to the park of EPCOT where people stop to pay for parking and the buses go right through? I dunno.. I just LOVE that font lol isnt that weird?
Sound: The screams from Tower of Terror
Smell: Disney air conditioning. I know it's weird, but I love that smell.
Sight: Predictable and cheesy, but the castle.
Zipadeedoodah -- yeah, man
What a great post, Lauren!
Sound: The music around the big fountain at Epcot, when it REALLY gets going
Smell: I agree with Brad - the Main St Bakery (pssst...there's Disney Magic involved there.)
Sight: I love the castle, but Spaceship Earth is my favorite sight. I just love Epcot and I'm 12 for 3 seconds everytime I arrive.

Yes there is but I call it sneaky.

Are those not real bakery smells there?

My favorite sight is the Welcome to Disney sign at the entrance!
My favorite smell might just be the orange grove on Soarin'! (but a bakery? Who can pass up those smells! *swoon*)
And favorite sound - the music on Rock N Roller Coaster
Lalenalily - I don't know if this is the most appropriate place to ask this, but do they give you any kind of special accommodations at different attractions - like scripts or anything? For example, if you go to Great Movie Ride, do they have a way for you to get the experience of the patter at all?
Sorry for the thread hijack, but I always wondered how Disney accommodated deaf people on some of the rides/attractions...

Oh, I dont mind people asking me questions. I only used rear window captioning and sign language interpreters few times. But most of the times, I don't use them. In fact, my last trip, I didn't use one thing. When I went to SpaceShip Earth 2 years ago, I was handed a script and a flashlight. It was helpful, but I rather handheld device or captioning. I think it is much better than struggling in the dark to read with a flashlight.
Most cast members would ask me - They always saw me signing to my husband and they would ask me if we need anything. I rarely had to ask.

I'll let Lizzy tell you, if she wants to, since she mentioned it first.
Interesting - thanks for answering.
I have a friend who's hearing impaired, though I guess he hears well enough that he doesn't need extra assistance usually. I always wondered how it would work for him in the parks if it got worse (his hearing goes in and out - sometimes better than others).

NOoooooooooooooooo! Thats part of the Magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAaaaaHHHHHHHHHHH!! .
Just kidding, go ahead.
I like this one!
Sight: Has to be the Castle during Christmas Time.
Sound: Any of the live music. Mulch Sweat and Shears and such...
Smell: This one is going to be hard to explain. Riding in Spaceship Earth, there is a part in it when things are destroyed and it smells has this overwhelming smell. This is the smell I love! It reminds me of BBQ. I know in thinking of that with what they are trying to explain... but I always love riding that ride and getting to that point because that smell has NEVER changed! It has been the same since I was a kid, and just love it!

The charcoal smell during the fall of rome scene....I agree...I like that smell to....and the bakery smells...LOL
I can tell you what smell I DON"T like....the skunk smell in the figment ride...LOL
Sound: The screams from Tower of Terror
That's a good one!
I missed doing this- but I think we've said it someplace else. They add a little extra "mmph" to the wonderful Main St Bakery by sending vanilla essence out through the vents. But this in no way diminishes the fabulous treats found inside
I agree Mase - I love the smell of Rome falling! lol
thanks whoever resurrected this post, it's nice to think about!
Sight: castle from Main St. and fireworks over the castle, plus Tink doing her zip-line
Sound: like: CoP song, Main St. music and OFF KILTER - they rock! dislike: electric parade electronic "music", after about 5 minutes it gives me a headache, and It's a small world - a bad earworm that I can't get rid of!
smell: fish n chips in England, and although it can be a bit overwhelming, the perfume stores in Italy and France smell so good
