Your Favourite Rope Drop...

Ok...I've checked this hasn't been discussed before..I'm always surprised when I read that some people have never made a rope drop eek ...I've done Epcot many times,even making it first in line at a turn style, and DHS also, but my favourite rope drop is the welcome show at MK..I love standing in the middle watching the show and I'm always surprised how many people are pushing at both ropes left and right of me.. confused Last year when Princess Elsa and Anna appeared you could hear the screams from lots of little girls seeing both of them, like they were pop stars..lol..Anyway, do you have a favourite rope drop at Disney ?..Tell us your favourite story...

Up until I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour, I had never made a rope drop...! As a result, I've only seen the rope drop at MK and was actually inside the park when it happened. It's a bit funny watching people walk as fast as possible behind two CMs holding a short bit of rope but maybe next time I'll get to experience it from behind the rope instead of in front of it.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!! Last trip we got to MK super early!!!! And just inside they were filming some promos and the fab 5 were there and only about 20 people were there when they came out to say a quick hi! We made it to ETWB, the little mermaid ride and met Gaston all before 10 am. Many years ago we made RD at EPCOT saw the cute show were first into the Character spot and my ds got a pick with the fab 5 all at once and individually! One SWW day we were camped out at about 5 am with my youngest in costume and a CM came over and asked him to be in the parade. So many more!!!!!!!!!!!!! It pays to get up and hit rope drop because you never know what will happen.

Never done a rope drop!! I know, I know. I'm going to try super hard on this upcoming trip. But its just so darn EARLY! For me, part of vacation is sleeping in until AT LEAST 7:30. But I need to the the MK rope drop at least once.

I've only done, MK, DHS, DL, and DCA. MK was by far the best. The only one with a show. I heard that Epcot used to have characters at rope drop, but no longer.

No rope drop here either - I get up at 4:45 during the school year! eek

DH and I have spent almost 300 days at Disney in the last 8 years and we still have never seen rope drop at MK. One day we'll get up early enough to see the MK show.....someday.

DHS used to have a rope drop show. It was actually done in the park. We only saw it once--in 2010--and then it was gone. I thought it was cute, but MK is far superior.

I've only made rope drop at DHS because I wanted to get to Toy Story Mania ASAP and ride more than once. No other park or attraction has inspired me to get up that early. DHS is also the only park I've ever made MEMH at, for the same reason.

I'm hyperventilating this morning.. eek ..Reading that so many of you have never made a rope drop..Now if you were in my clan you would be up at the crack of dawn..Showered and ready for magic action by 7.00am...So for those of you who have never seen a tinkerbell sunrise...Make it priority on your next visit and at least see the welcome show at MK..10.9.8.7.6.5.4.3.2.1....Good Morning..Good Morning.. pillowfight

I have to admit, although I wasn't technically watching the rope drop, I did get a wave from Mickey which offset the unseasonably cold cold weather that day!

Nope, never. Closed the park, seen "kiss Goodnight", but never rope drop. The last time we were there, we were in time for the trolley show on Main St., but neither of the kids were interested. Some day, though. It has become a good excuse why we have to go back.

We haven't seen any either. We've made two attempts for the MK one. Attempt one- it was an extra magic hour morning and we mistakenly thought the welcome show would be when the park opened to everyone. Nope. Missed it. Attempt two- bus from our resort was late which made us late. We missed it by about 2 minutes! We could hear it while walking from the bus drop off gaah we stayed at BLT in October and somehow never made it over. We have 2 weeks in September and we're making it this time!

Oddly enough, I have no problem getting up at 3am to catch the bus/monorail at 3:30am to get to the start line and my corral for runDisney races laugh

I think MK rope drop has to be the outright winner. We did receive some pixie dust at Epcot RD though. A cast member came up to us and gave my dds a Tinkerbell pin each. I also love being part of the Soarin Stampede - all the cms line the walkway to Soarin', cheering/clapping/waving mickey hands etc. I hope they still do crossfingers

I love rope drop at MK. I have to admit I always have tears in my eyes as it begins. The best one was this last year when I went with my best friend. She had never even heard of rope drop and couldn't understand why I loved it so much. I dragged her out of bed early and made her go. Well we were watching the train arrive she leaned over and whispered now I understand. She is making her family go to rope drop this year! awesome
