Our friend is an MMA fighter this is just one I took with my phone at the fight in Charlotte a couple weekends ago. I'm not into this stuff so when he's not fighting I am just playing games on my phone and snapping random pics...

I actually did play around with one of the images of my daughter, comparing the tone and clarity to an extant photograph to try and get the right feel to it. You'll see that experiment below.
Also, I've noticed that well cared for photographs professional of the era tended to retain the silvery black and white tones. So I don't think that these are too far off. The thing that is really different is the sharpness they have.

Looks nice Kristen. Here are some original pictures from the 40's I recovered off of negatives. All the originals were destroyed in a fire, but I found over 800 negative from my grand parents that I have been slowly restoring.

Just took this photo this morning during my bike ride. Looking at it, you wouldn't guess that this is in a Chicago suburb, barely 10 minutes away from where I live, and it is surrounded by expressways, shopping malls, office complexes, and housing subdivisions.

Greetings from Berkeley, CA.
This is a view of Berkeley, the bay, and a foggy San francisco in the far distance. This was taken yesterday atop the hill at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
