The Rumors Are Strong with This One – Is Star Wars Land Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios?
While it's just a rumor right now, there's a lot of chatter on the Internet that Star Wars Land is coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in the next five years.
Several sites have been reporting that Disney is moving forward with plans to build both Cars Land and Star Wars Land at DHS. There is no official word from Disney yet, and we want to stress that these are merely rumors at this point, but what juicy rumors they are!
The rumored Star Wars Land could include a restaurant themed after Chalmun's Cantina in Mos Esiley - the "wretched hive of scum and villainy" on Luke Skywalker's home planet of Tatooine. Included in the rumors is also a renovation of Star Tours and perhaps an additional attraction and more character meet-and-greet areas.
These possible additions to the Studios are supposed to be completed in 2018 and, according to several sources, might be overseen by George Kalogridis, who was recently named president of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog have some thoughts on why it would be awesome to have a Chalman's/Mos Eisley Cantina-themed Star Wars restaurant in the rumored Star Wars Land.

Frankly, I'd love to see Star Wars land come to DHS, especially with another restaurant and another attraction -- Star Tours was just updated recently, so I don't think that will be in the plans. As for Cars Land, I'd like to leave that one exclusive to DCA and put something else Pixar-related into DHS...what about the long talked about Monsters, Inc. "doors room" ride?? Or something else more thrilling with an Incredibles theme? They need a few more thrill rides to keep people from going over to Universal, in my opinion.

I like Star Wars and enjoy the Star Tours ride and would love a meet and greet with Darth Vader but I'd rather have Cars Land. But for all of those fans that are Star Wars fanatics it would be great for them. It would be interesting to see what they would do with a Star Wars Land and I would check it out when I was there. Let's just hope there is room enough for both and give me even MORE reasons to go to Disney World.

It would be totally awesome! But if they're announcing anything, it probably won't happen until D23 in August.

I'm all for more Star Wars at DHS. Personally I want Carsland to stay unique to California, but I wouldn't mind them expanding on the Pixar Place area with a new ride or two.
