Manatee Finds New Home at Epcot’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends

One of the residents at Epcot's The Seas with Nemo & Friends might be the most well-traveled manatee ever.

His name is Lil Joe and the 25-year-old manatee has lived at several zoos and theme parks around the country.

He was first rescued back in 1989 in the Halifax River and his first temporary home was at Sea World in Orlando.

He went on to live in San Deigo, Cincinnati, and Tampa. In all, Lil Joe has lived in five different locations in his lifetime.

Miss America Contestants Visited the Magic Kingdom Prior to Competition

Before heading to Atlantic City, NJ to compete for the title of Miss America 2015, all 53 Miss America contestants visited the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The contestants had a chance to show off their "Disney Side" while touring the park, riding the attractions, and even spending time with some of the characters including Prince Charming who shared a dance in front of Cinderella Castle with the ladies.

Walt Disney World Listed as One of the Top 20 Brands in 2014 Based on Facebook Followers

The Walt Disney World Resort was recently listed one of the Top 20 brands with the most loyal followers on Facebook.

Based on the brand's Facebook likes and visits it was ranked number 12 on the list.

The top 20 list was compiled by LoudDoor, a research and targeting platform that helps brands reach their ideal customers on Facebook.

Select Walt Disney World Restaurants Testing Allergy-Friendly Menus

Several restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort are testing new "allergy-friendly" menus for guests with food allergies and intolerances.

The allergy friendly menus are being tested for a limited time at the World Premiere Food Court at the All-Star Movies Resort, the Flying Fish Cafe at the BoardWalk, and Captain Cook's and the Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

Walt Disney World Restaurants Harvests Unserved Food for Local Food Bank

There is a growing trend among major restaurant chains that involves "harvesting" unused food for local food banks, and Walt Disney World has been participating for many years.

The Walt Disney World Resort has been operating a harvest program for more than two decades, and the company has a food harvest truck that picks up food daily from every Disney World restaurant, convention center, and the theme parks' catering service.

Starbucks Opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in February 2015

Another Starbucks location is opening at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The new Starbucks will be located at Disney's Hollywood Studios and is scheduled to open early next winter.

The new location at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be named The Trolley Car Cafe and is being built in the former location of the L.A. Prop Cinema Storage merchandise store on Hollywood Boulevard.

Disney Parks Moms Panel Search Begins September 2

It's that time of year again: the search for the newest members of the Disney Parks Mom Panel opens September 2.

The Disney Parks Moms Panel has been around since 2008 when it was called the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Several years ago the name was changed to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to include other Disney vacation experiences including Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and runDisney.

The panel might be called the "Moms Panel" but there are dads, aunts, and grandparents answering questions as panelists too.

Magic Kingdom’s ‘Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!’ Street Party to be Updated this Fall

Walt Disney World is updating the Magic Kingdom's 'Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It!' Street Party.

Starting this fall the street party is getting a new name in addition to several new characters including Stitch and Phineas and Ferb. Once the updates have been made it will be known as the 'Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It!' Street Party.

The updated procession will still begin on Main Street U.S.A. and will make its way to Cinderella Castle. The emcee, stilt walkers, and characters will still be part of the new program.

Characters from ‘Big Hero 6’ Arriving at Disney Parks this Fall

The stars from Walt Disney Animation Studios' newest film are headed to Disneyland and Walt Disney World later this fall.

Hiro and his pal Baymax from the upcoming animated film Big Hero 6 are scheduled to start meeting theme park guests in the next couple of months.

Disney has not yet released details on exact meet-and-greet locations at Disneyland Resort or the Walt Disney World Resort.

ESPN Hosting Fantasy Football Convention at Walt Disney World Resort

This year's football season kicks off with the inaugural ESPN Fantasy Football Convention at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

The convention takes place this weekend, August 22 and 23 at the Walt Disney World Resort and will features a live telecast of ESPN's Fantasy Football Now.
