Celebrate 23 Years of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

It's almost time to open the shutters on the 23rd Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! 75 days of delicious culinary adventures begin on Thursday, August 30th, 2018. This year's event features more than 30 global marketplace booths circling the World Showcase Lagoon and annexing just a bit of Future World too. Guests will be able to sip and stroll their way through diverse ethnic cuisine, refreshing new beverages, and enjoy a star-studded entertainment lineup. It's no wonder many adults find Food & Wine Festival to be the best season to visit.

We thought we would share some fun facts about this year's event:

  • 2018's Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is 75 days long! That's some serious grow when you consider that it began in 1996 with an initial run of 30 days.
  • More than 30 global marketplaces will be serving food and beverages.
  • Festival Center will include the new menus and attractions such as the Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar, Craft Drafts and the Festival Center Wine Shop.
  • There are 35 new marketplace dishes on the overall menu.
  • 70 new non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, wines and beers will make sure you don't go thirsty.

  • More than 65 wineries and 40-plus breweries from around the world, including local craft beer operations, will be represented at festival marketplaces.
  • Seven of the brews are festival-exclusive.
  • A total of 197 Disney and guest chefs will present culinary demonstrations and will cook for festival events. That's a lot of combined food knowledge!
  • Celebrity chefs from eight countries and 20 U.S. states will participate in culinary demos, book signings, and special tasting events and dinners.
  • Remy's Ratatouille Hide & Squeak festival scavenger hunt, will send guests to scour the park for the ingredients to make his signature dish, ratatouille. Those that complete the hunt will get a prize!

  • Over the 75 day run, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will host 400 special culinary events, including the new "Sunday Brunch with the Chef" series, Party for the Senses, Food & Wine Pairings, Cheese Seminars, and so much more.
  • There are 240 hours of scheduled seminars will take place in the Festival Center alone.
  • Nine brand new headliners will join a lineup of 32 musical acts during the Eat to the Beat Concert Series that is included with your Epcot Theme Park Admission.
  • Five festival-themed merchandise collections are perfect for taking a little of the Food & Wine fun home with you.
  • Of course - all 75 nights of the Festival will have a showing of the spectacular IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth laser and fireworks show.

  • The all-new Disney Du Jour Dance Party will get kids groovin' with their Disney friends at the Future World Fountain Stage on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • The DFB Guide to the 2018 Epcot Food & Wine Festival e-Book offers insider tips and advice as well as all of the details you need to know to plan your best Festival visit ever.
  • Marketplace menus will be featuring 29 Vegetarian and 13 Gluten Free items to better serve foodies with varied dietary needs.
  • 100,000-plus desserts will be served, but life if short so if you want to eat them first, you go right ahead!
