D-Tech Me Experience at Star Wars Weekends Adds New Figurine Options

The D-Tech Me Experience is returning to Star Wars Weekends this year, but with a few updates and changes.

Guests can take part in the D-Tech Me experience inside Darth's Mall which is located in Soundstage 1 between the Studio Backlot Tour and Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The experience uses the world's highest resolution, single-shot 3D face scanner which was developed by Imagineering scientists at Disney Research Labs. The image captured by the scanner is sent to a high resolution 3D printer which creates the D-Tech Me figurine.

This year guests can choose from the Carbon-Freeze Me and Stormtrooper figures that were available last year in addition to two new figures: Alderaan Princess and X-Wing Pilot. The X-Wing Pilot, Carbon-Freeze Me, and Stormtrooper are available as male or female options.

And for the younger fans, Alderaan Princess and Carbon-Freeze Me figures will be available with more "youthful appearances."

The D-Tech Me figures are available as 7-inch figures and, for the first time, also as 16-inch figures. The 7-inch figure is $99.95 plus tax and shipping, while a 16-inch figure will set you back $1,499.95 plus tax and shipping.

Guests who had a figure created last year will also be able to have that image used for a different figure this year.
