Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Earffel Tower is Latest Casualty in Park’s Expansion Plans
It's time to say goodbye to more attractions and landmarks at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It was announced late last week that the Earffel Tower is coming down to make way for the new Toy Story Land.

The 130-foot-tall water tower topped with Mickey Ears has been in the theme park since it opened. And while the tower doesn't actually hold water it is an icon of the park.
Several attractions are also slated for removal at the Studios including the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show; Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure; the Monsters, Inc. meet-and-greet, and the Studio Catering Co. quick service restaurant.
There is no official word on when the Earffel Tower is coming down but the other attractions are set to close on April 2.

This makes me sad. I've heard rumors that it will be reused at Disney Springs, but with a new paint job and no ears.

Oh how dramatic. There won't be any magic left? Seriously? I didn't realize the water tower was filled with magic. The people that complain about things changing are the same ones who bemoan the lack of growth. Things need to close to make way for new magical things to open. That's the way it is, relax. The park is being re-imagined. It's not meant to be a working movie studio anymore so it makes sense. Progress is good!

Kind of bummed. Always loved it with the Santa hat around Xmas time...... Wish they would move it somewhere like downtown. Can't stop progress. It's good that the parks evolve. Well, we'll always have our pictures in the event that we need to wax nostalgic.

Oh no Disney has Definitely run out of magic. That tower is empty, prices are too high and they have gotten so far away from Walt's dream of an affordable fun place for families to go.

I don't understand why the Earrful Tower can't be relocated in the park somewhere. I have always enjoyed driving by it on World Drive, it's part of the magic!

Change doesn't automatially mean progress. Especially to remove a classic landmark. They could upgrade like they did test track and star tours. Where magic kingdom be without cinderella's castle? Or animal kingdom and epcot without the tree of life and spaceship earth? I can't see any of them being knocked down to build a new rollercoaster or another childrens play area. I dread the day they remove the final classics such as tower of terror, the 3 mountains and carousel of progress. (The latter of which would be ironic) We can only wait and see the results of this "progress" as Disney continues to make these unpopular.
