May 1 marks the 25th anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios and there are a couple special events planned for the day.
The silver anniversary celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. with a special rededication ceremony. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be in attendance along with Disney's Hollywood Studios Vice President Dan Cockerell.
The ceremony will honor some of the 25-year cast members at the park.
Throughout the day guests can purchase special commemorative merchandise at a special, temporary shop located between the Studio Backlot Tour and Toy Story Midway Mania. All commemorative merchandise will be available while supplies last.
The anniversary celebration also includes a 25th Anniversary Chocolate Nutella Cupcake, which will be sold at many of the park's quick service dining locations.
A special anniversary motorcade will make its way down Hollywood Blvd. at 7 p.m. Thursday night featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Darth Vader, Doc McStuffins, Captain Jack Sparrow, and more characters.
The 25th anniversary celebration will end in spectacular fashion with a special fireworks show that pays tribute to the 25 years of show business stories that have been told in the park. Guests can view the fireworks from an area in front of the Sorcerer's Hat.
Disney's Hollywood Studios opened May 1, 1989 as Disney-MGM Studios. The park name was changed in 2008.

I love that they will be honoring the 25 year cast members at this, it just seems really special to me.

Really hope I don't have to go to something this lame.

Unless you're there to work, I'm not sure why you would "have to" Corey. There are tons of other things to do if you don't feel like celebrating the anniversary. :-)
