For the first time ever, Disney is opening its vault and releasing three classics on Blu-ray! Available in stores now, Robin Hood, Oliver and Company and The Sword in the Stone are three must-have movies to be added to your Blu-ray collection, So Disney's given us a set to share with our readers!
All three movies are being released to celebrate their anniversary and Disney doesn't disappoint with the great features that each Blu-ray includes.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, The Sword in the Stone is a classic Disney movie and now you can introduce it to a whole new generation!
You'll follow the journey of a young orphan named "Wart" and the extraordinary wizard Merlin. According to legend, only someone with the purest character and inner strength can pull the enchanted sword from the stone and claim the throne of England. Armed with new found confidence and the power of friendship, Wart discovers his destiny and learns the best magic is the kind you find inside yourself.
The Sword in the Stone is available in both Blu-ray and DVD and has some great bonus features. It features an alternative opening sequence where Wart meets Merlin in addition to features that were on the original DVD release like the option to watch the entire movie in "sing-along mode", a behind the scenes look with The Sherman Brothers, the Brave Little Toaster short and more!
Disney is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Robin Hood by releasing it onto Blu-ray for the first time ever!
Join Robin Hood, his trusted companion Little John and his hilarious band of Merry Men as they outfox greedy Prince John to save the good people of Nottingham. Dashing from one daring deed to the next, Robin won't rest until he wins the hand of Maid Marian and restores King Richard to the throne.
Filled with fun extras like a deleted storyline called "Love Letters", an alternate ending, a Mickey Mouse short cartoon called Ye Olden Days and of course sing-alongs! Oo-de-lally, anyone?
A favorite of mine, Oliver and Company is celebrating its 25th anniversary by being released onto Blu-ray for the first time!
In the heart of New York City, Oliver, a mischievous orphaned kitten, is befriended by Dodger, a carefree pooch and his ragtag family of misfit mutts. Life gets even better for Oliver when he is adopted by a lonely little girl named Jenny. But when tough guy Sykes and his Doberman sidekicks try to keep Jenny and Oliver apart, the spirited kitten and his newfound friends discover the meaning of courage and find a home where they truly belong.
In this restored version of Oliver and Company, you'll appreciate the update to colors and clarity of the film. Unfortunately, there aren't very many additional features You'll enjoy the two animated shorts, 'Lend a Paw' and 'Puss Cafe and of course there is a sing-along version of the film which I loved.
Now, the good part! WDW for Grownups is excited to be giving away a copy of The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood and Oliver and Company to one lucky reader!

The Sword in the Stone! Love Mad Madam Mim.

I am SPECTACULARLY excited about all of these - as to the most excited, I already have Robin Hood (though just on DVD, and not with singalong mode!)
So I'm going to have to say Sword in the Stone - that movie doesn't get nearly enough love, and Madame Mim TERRIFIED me as a child (and I still think she's pretty scary). The squirrel scene! The scary pike after that wonderful fish song! So much goodness!

Oh man.... Probably Oliver and Company! I love that show. Or maybe Robin Hood. I watched those shows constantly as a kid. I think I probably burned through both VHS tapes.

Sweet! I always loved Robin Hood as a kid. My wife has never seen it; I need to pick that one up. I was hunting for it a while back and realized Disney had it "in the vault." So happy to see they brought it back.

The Sword and the Stone is classic Disney Animation and storytelling! I have always held it in a special place in my heart as we share a birthday. Can't believe we're 50 this year! I will be excited to share this wonderful film with my niece, who has never seen it. One generation sharing the Disney Magic with the next!
