Let's kick off the Friday news round-up with a quick reminder that Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort opened its beautiful new port of entry this week! There's a fresh new island feeling and welcoming atmosphere at Old Port Royale, with a new lobby, restaurants, and more! If you dream of the sea you can now participate in Mermaid School in the resort's Fuentes del Morro Pool! This hour long, all ages, instrctor-led class will take participants through the finer points of being a mermaid.
Animal Kingdom has some wild new Magic Shots from Disney's PhotoPass Service. This fall you can marvel at the colors of the wind, hang out with characters from the Jungle Book, or be surrounded by hyenas from The Lion King. Be prepared, and ask your PhotoPass Photographer about these new Magic Shots!
Orange lovers can rejoice because Cuties have been named the Official Citrus Fruit of Walt Disney World. Guests can expect to find America's original clementine brand popping up across property as a fast an easy option for a healthy snack or side dish.
Just when you thought that they couldn't squeeze any more great food into Disney Springs an announcement is made that a new restaurant is on it's way! City Works Eatery & Pour House is set to open on the West Side in summer of 2019. Along with chef-driven American cuisine the new restaurant will feature three full-service bars with "a massive draft selection of local, regional, and global craft brews with a constantly rotating draft list."
Speaking of new things at Disney Springs, three new shops are set to open in the Marketplace. Disney Tails will be the place to go for the cutest Disney themed pet gear such as leashes, collars, bandanas, squeaky toys, treats, and more! Lovepop, the intricate 3D paper sculpture cards that appeared on ABC's hit show Shark Tank will take a spot in the center Marketplace Co-Op. Finally, for a limited time only, The Art of Disney will be opening a brand new gallery featuring the original works of art, limited-editions, and prints from popular Disney artist Greg McCullough.
For the seventh year in a row Conde Nast readers have voted the Disney Cruise Line the No. 1 "Large Cruise Line" in the 2018 Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards. We're not surprised one bit to hear the news, vacations on the Disney Cruise Line are an amazing way to travel!
