Disney Offers a Sneak Peek Behind the Scenes of the Festival of Fantasy Parade
Disney's Festival of Fantasy Parade doesn't debut until later this spring, but Imagineers and builders are hard at work creating the parade's magical floats.
Recently the Disney Parks Blog gave fans a sneak peek behind the scenes, showing how some of the floats were created. Construction on the floats began several months ago.
The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is celebration of Fantasyland and each float will be created so that it appears as though the characters featured on the floats had a hand in creating them. Watch this video about their construction from the Disney Parks Blog.
In addition to the floats representing The Little Mermaid, Brave, and Peter Pan, there will also be a float that represents Sleeping Beauty's villain, the evil Maleficent.
The Maleficent float is a 35-foot-long, 26-foot high Steampunk-inspired dragon that was designed in partnership with Michael Curry, a Tony Award winner who also worked on the Tapestry of Nations parade at Epcot, and Finding Nemo: The Musical at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Other floats include the Disney Princesses and Rapuzel with Flynn Rider.
Each of the new floats in the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will bring a classic Fantasyland story to life. The floats have been moved to the staging center at the Magic Kingdom and time it getting closer it the parade's launch! Are you looking forward to seeing Festival of Fantasy?

Really hoping that Festival of Fantasy and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are rolling by the beginning of April. We've got two more chance to see them this year, but this is the only time my parents will be with us and I hope they get to see them!!

I do believe they are aiming to have the parade running next month.

I've been hearing that the Parade will indeed be stepping off in sometime March.
