Disney To Stop Newspaper Delivery To Rooms

Those guests staying at deluxe Disney resorts will have one less perk to look forward to now. As of January 30, Disney has stopped the daily weekday delivery of the USA Today newspaper to the rooms of its deluxe resorts.

Those resorts affected by this change are:

  • Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney's BoardWalk Inn
    Disney's Contemporary Resort
  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
  • Disney's Polynesian Resort
  • Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
  • Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Guests who would like a copy of the newspaper can still pick one up near the elevators of their resort Monday through Friday until 1 p.m.

This is a good idea. I've stayed at hotels that do this and I never read the paper. I just picked it up and tossed it on the table on my way out. Many times after coming back to room after being gone from the hotel, papers were still laying on the floor in front of some rooms.

The last thing I want to do while I'm at Disney is read a newspaper! I came to Disney to leave the real world behind :) Haha.

Glad they changed this policy.

When I was growing up my family had a "No Outside News" rule when we were in Disney. Anything going on off property just distracted from the fun.

Glad to see this happening! You know how many times I slipped on that newspaper going for coffee? We never read it either, heck we rarely even turn on a tv. Never turned it on this last trip.

Agree with you all. I don't want to know what's going on. I want to be in a Disney bubble when I'm on vacation. :)
