Parking at Downtown Disney might be a bit easier by the end of this month.
The first new parking garage built as part of the Disney Springs transformation is scheduled to open on November 20, just in time for the holiday crowds.
The driving and parking situation at Downtown Disney has been rather difficult as the expansion and transformation to Disney Springs has been progressing. But the opening of one parking garage should help, even a little.
The on-going Disney Springs construction project includes the addition of two parking garages with a total of 6,000 spaces. There will also be two pedestrian bridges, an I-4 exit ramp extension, and Buena Vista Drive will be widened and included dedicated bus lanes.
The parking garage recently opened for a "trial run" for Disney cast members and will open to the general public on the scheduled date.
The five-level garage has 4,000 spaces and when it opens on the 20th, 1,700 of those spaces will be available. By December a total of 3,000 spots will be open.
