Epcot's Innoventions showcase "Habit Heroes" is back after a refurbishment that brings a kinder and gentler visual to help kids defeat unhealthy habits. The attraction had barely debuted in February 2012 when it was widely criticized for it's "super sized" cartoon characters, insensitivity and cruel stereo-types. The attraction was closed by March.
Other than it's name the newly Imagineered version of the attraction has little in common with the first try. Today guests are taken 12 at a time through the 4,700-square-foot interactive attraction where they use blasters and motion sensor technology to defeat the enemies: dehydration, inactivity and poor nutrition.
The new Habit Heroes located in Innoventions, is presented by Blue Cross/Blue Shield and has been enhanced with fun at home component App for iPhone and GooglePlay. The app includes three digital comic books, tools to help build healthy habits and an exclusive In-Park mission.
