Downtown Disney's newest watering hole opened this week in The Landing. Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar is where, as the story goes, Jock and the other members of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers used to meet. And if you're wondering "who is Jock Lindsey?"...he was a trusted pilot for Indiana Jones.
Jock's life full of adventures means that the Hangar Bar is full of incredible details including books, trophies, airplane gear, and more. There's also a cage for Jock's pet snake Reggie, but it seems that someone left the cage door open.
The backstory of the bar is that Jock discovered the waterfront property back in 1938 when he was looking for the Fountain of Youth. He settled down, started giving airplane tours of the area, and the rest is history.
The Hangar Bar has seating capacity for 150 guests inside and out and it is serving up 16 specialty drinks, beer, wine, and tapas-style eats.
Some of the specialty drinks include Reggie's Revenge made with Florida Cane 'Orlando Orange' Vodka, Midori, white cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice. There's also the Bedtime Story which is made with Absolut Mandrin, Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur, hibiscus syrup, fresh lemon juice, and iced tea.
The food items include Rolling Boulder Sliders, Squid! Why'd It Have to Be Squid? fried calamari flatbread, and Dr. Elsa's She-Deviled Eggs topped with lump crab meat.
Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until midnight, and from 11:30 a.m. until 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Reservations are not accepted.
