If you're planning a trip to Disney in late March or early April and need something else to help round out your itinerary, then take note of these two upcoming events: a Walt Disney World Artist Showcase and a book signing.
First up, Disney Design Group artist Alex Maher will be the focus of a Walt Disney World Artist Showcase at the end of this month. Head to the Art of Disney at Downtown Disney Marketplace on Friday, March 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to catch the debut of Maher's latest works, "Tink" and "Bambi and Friends." The event is also planned for Saturday, March 31 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Book lovers and "The Sound of Music" fans out there may want to head out to The WRiter's Stop at Disney's Hollywood Studios Friday, April 6 to catch Fred Bronson at his book signing. The television writer and author will be on hand to sign his newest book, The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook, from noon to 2 p.m. In addition, you can catch Bronson at the Art of Disney at Downtown Disney Marketplace on Saturday, April 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Bronson's book gives voice to the seven young actors who starred in "The Sound of Music" and tells what went on behind the scenes from their perspectives. The book also follows their lives before and after the film.

What a great event this is going to be. I would assume that since this event is being held at Disney that the artists and authors are going to remember it always just as those getting the autographs.
Book signings can happen anywhere but when they happen at such card games there is much more to enjoy for everyone who is lucky enough to attend.

I love how much access Disney gives to it's authors and artists, it really fosters great community spirit. I wish I could get down for something like this sometimes.
