Here are a few more bits of info that have surfaced about the big day coming this Saturday, October 1. Disney is planning a morning parade and a nightcap of special fireworks to help celebrate the Magic Kingdom's 40 years of being the happiest place on earth.
The parade is set to start at 9:45 a.m. and will travel the route between the Main Street Train Station and Cinderella's Castle. At the Castle, a ceremony is planned and will feature Walt Disney World president Meg Crofton as well as cast members who have 40 years of experience. Guests lucky enough to get a glimpse of the special ceremony can expect singers, dancers, daytime pyrotechnics as well as a sing along with with the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet.
To help close the evening, Disney is planning to bring out their big guns - the fireworks that are usually only viewed during after-hours special events. The fireworks will be incorporated to an expanded "Wishes" presentation.
In addition, guests venturing into the Magic Kingdom will have the opportunity to purchase a special commemorative t-shirt that will be on sale exclusively on Saturday.
The Magic Kingdom will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. until midnight.
