The Walt Disney World Resort has opened a brand-new, behind-the-scenes Flavor Lab where Disney's chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, and even front-of-house managers will be trained. The new research and development facility is not open to the general public.
The Flavor Lab is where new product, packaging, and equipment will be tested for the Walt Disney World Resort food and beverage programs.
Prior to the opening of this new facility there was a small test kitchen on property but the remaining food and beverage operations were spread around the resort.
Nearly 18 culinary, front-of-house, and project design team members will be based at the Flavor Lab on a permanent, full-time basis. Cast members will be trained on new equipment and new products will be tested.
The facility will also be used for vendor presentations and food photography.
What do you think about this new behind-the-scenes culinary lab? Let us know in the comments.
