If you're hoping to drive a few laps around the Walt Disney World Speedway, you still have a few months. The closure of the Mickyard and the Richard Petty Driving Experience has been pushed back from June to August 9.
Petty Holdings LLC had announced back in February that the Driving Experience was leaving the Walt Disney World Speedway this June. The Speedway is closing to make way for unspecified "transportation improvements."
Guests can book their Richard Petty Driving Experience or Exotic Driving Experience through August 9. The last day will end with a charity ride held in collaboration with Give Kids the World. The last ride on August 9 will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the nonprofit.
The Richard Petty Driving Experience has been at the Walt Disney World Speedway since 1997. The Speedway employees nearly 70 people.
Will you be visiting the Walt Disney World Speedway before it closes for good in August? Let us know in the comments.
