Ship Used in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Series Sinks in the Caribbean

Call it the real curse of the Black Pearl.

A ship used in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean film series recently sunk off the coast of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The ship, The Brig Unicorn, was sailing to St. Lucia for repairs and "encountered difficulties" and then sank. There were nine crew members and a captain on board at the time, but no one was hurt in the accident. All crew members were rescued by the St. Vincent Coast Guard.

In the Pirates franchise The Brig Unicorn "played" The Henrietta in The Curse of the Black Pearl and The Terrasaw in Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. The ship was also used in the 1970s television miniseries Roots.

Most recently the 66-year-old ship was being used as a bar and restaurant in St. Lucia.
