Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away Comes To Life at Disney's Hollywood Studios

While dedicated Star Wars fans wait with baited breath for the debut of a fully immersive new land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the powers that be have seen fit to integrate as much galactic fun as possible into the Park. Most of this, so far, has come in form of new entertainment, and Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away is one such show.


Heroes and Villains of The Franchise Recreate Memorable Scenes


Set on the Hollywood Boulevard Stage, just in front of the Chinese Theater, this show brings your favorite Star Wars Characters to center stage as they recreate some of the most loved movie scenes from across the galactic franchise. My son and I happened upon the stage as the crowd gathered to boo the villains and cheer of their heroes.

I found this show to be an interesting departure for Disney stage shows. Unlike most, that recreate the popular films through song and dance Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away relies heavily on movie footage projected onto large screens behind the stage. As the film retells the high points of the franchise, the characters appear on stage and pose or recreate bits of what is happening on the screen. The addition of a few pyrotechnics and special effects punctuates what's happening on stage.


The Show Includes Some Fun Special Effects Too


If a viewer wants to get a good feeling for Star Wars, and the story, it's best to mostly pay attention to the movie projections. However if like most of the crowd we were with, you just want to cheer for your favorites, pay attention to the stage. Sadly, I felt that it was difficult to take the entirety of the show in one piece.

Characters that appear in the show include Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, R2-D2 and C3PO, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, BB-8, Darth Maul and several others.


Old School Or New, Star Wars Fans Will Be Entertained
