Smartphones are everywhere these days, and over the past year Disney has come out with an interactive app and website called MyDisneyExperience to help guests manage their Disney vacation information in one place. However, though it's the best spot to go to when making advanced dining reservations or scheduling a FastPass, there is a lot of vacation information people need to keep at hand that just doesn't have a spot to go in using the officical Disney app. Because of this travelers often seek out third party applications that will help them manage their vacation data and information all in one place.
Enter MouseTrips, a vacation planning iPhone App for Disney travelers that offers its users the option to store things like airline, dining, entertainment, ground transportation, and hotel information all in one app. The good folks at MouseTrips sent us a complimentary copy of the app to play with. They've also uploaded the following short video, so that you can see how it works for yourself.
I've used another organizational application for years and there has always been a certain amount jury-rigging to fit Disney specific items into "other" categories. Though I make it work, I must admit that I like having an app where it all fits in perfectly.
Some of the Great MouseTrip Features Include:
If you're like me and prefer to have more function in keeping your travel information at your fingertips, MouseTrips keeps all of your supplemental information and several planning tools right in one place. You'll still need MyDisneyExperience to make the most of your time in Walt Disney World, but this supplemental app plays its part well.
MouseTrips can also be used to plan and track vacations at Disneyland, Disney World, a Disney Cruise, Aulani Resort, Hilton Head Island, and Disney's Vero Beach. Unfortunately MouseTrips is currently only available for iPhone. For more information, visit the MouseTrips website at mousetripsapp.com, the MouseTrips app can be downloaded from the iTunes Store for $2.99.

Hi Kristen,
I was wondering if you knew if there was an application similar to MouseTrip for users that do not have an IPhone...I have a smartphone but it isn't an Iphone.
Thanks

Hi Kathys, Lisa, Nicole & Kathleen - I'm not sure if there are any other apps that are similar. We were sent this product to try out from it's developer last fall. I don't know of their intention for Windows or Android development.
I'll see if I can get one of our researchers on looking for similar apps for other phones with a possible future article in mind.
