Milkshakes, the icey-cold, delicious, creamy, sweet goodness in a cup that takes us back to childhood. You can drink them as a beverage, eat (?) them as a dessert, side dish, meal, or even as a snack. They're a summery treat that we just can't get enough of, and Disney has more than one spot to quench your thirst with decadent milkshakes.
Milkshakes & Malts
The quintessential mid-century soda fountain has found a home at Disney's Beach Club Resort. Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is not only serving up some fantastic milkshakes and malts for just $5.29. Choose your ice cream from Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Mint Chocolate Chip, Coffee, Butter Pecan, Orange Sherbet, or Strawberry the soda jerk will blend it up and top with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry. Shakes aren't all that's going on here, the menu includes ice cream Soda, Coke Floats and Frozen Sunshine.
All-You-Care-To-Enjoy
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge offers an "All-You-Care-To-Enjoy" Sheriff Shake in Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry for just $6.69. This frosty goodness is a perfect pair for the smokey, spicy Family BBQ Platter and you don't have to stick with just one flavor! Feel free to live dangerously and switch it up with every refill as many times as you want.
Something Really Unique
Disney's Hollywood Studio's 50's Prime Time Cafe is all about thinking outside the box while paying homage to classic American comfort foods. It doesn't get much more down home than some peanut butter & jelly. Right from Mom's kitchen to your Disney table the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake might end up being your new favorite. Served up extra thick n'rich in a tall glass for just $5.29, Mom will even left the left overs from the mixing cup for you.
Never having enough spots to grab great shake, there have been rumors that there could be a Shake Shack coming to the new Disney Springs! Thanks so much to our friends at The Disney Food Blog for exclusive use of their milkshake photos! However to date the company is denying any connection, and Disney has not yet released a list of vendors for the new complex. So how do you enjoy a milkshake? Is it a beverage, dessert, or just the best part of your meal? Leave a comment and let me know!

I've gotten a milkshake at 50's Prime Time for dessert. It was really good.

To me, milkshakes are desserts or snacks, never beverages - they're too thick for that. And they must always be chocolate, no other flavor will do.
Hubby, on the other hand, will drink them as a beverage with a meal; to each his or her own.
The best chocolate milkshake I've ever had is at Hersheypark in Hershey, PA, at the little burger stand across from the Music Box Theater and between a couple of outdoor stages and a restroom. (I'm giving detailed location info because I can't remember the name of the place that sells them.) I guess you would expect the Hershey people to have the best chocolate shakes.

Looked it up - the place with the great chocolate milkshakes at Hersheypark is called Shakey's Drive In (not actually a drive-in). Get the shake! (But skip the sliders, they're mediocre at best.)

The Sci-Fi Dinner shake is awesome. It is so thick it barely comes up the straw.

One of the many family disney trips we have taken, was the year of the milkshake, Many of the restaurants in DW, offer milkshakes as your dining plan drink. We ordered milkshakes at every meal we could! It was great!
