If you find yourself needing to satisfy your sweet tooth while touring the Magic Kingdom there is no shortage of great things to eat. You can choose from the old standbys like the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar to something a little bit healthy like apple slices with caramel sauce. Or you could go all out and order a sundae at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.
And because sweet treats at the Magic Kingdom rank up there with some of our favorite treats in all of Walt Disney World Resort, we thought it would be fun to name the Top 10 Sweet Snacks at the Magic Kingdom. There's nothing scientific about this list, and you might have 10 totally different things on your list but here goes!
10. Dole Whip: This might be the quintessential sweet treat at the Magic Kingdom. It has achieved cult status among Disney theme park treats. There are even T-shirts demanding that others "Please Stand Clear of My Dole Whip." Whether you're ordering a standard Dole Whip or a Dole Whip twist or our personal favorite, the Dole Whip Float, you can't go wrong with this snack.
9. Cinnamon Roll: The cinnamon roll can be found at Gaston's Tavern and it's the perfect sweet snack for sharing. This treat is HUGE and while it doesn't have the icing to cinnamon roll ratio that the old Main Street Bakery rolls did, it'll do. Perfect for breakfast or a mid-day or late night snack this cinnamon roll is tops!
8. Sundaes at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor: While our personal favorite is the All-American Sundae (peanut butter!) you can't go wrong with any of the sundaes or ice cream choices at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. You'll always find a line but it's worth the wait.
7. Cupcakes: You will find delicious cupcakes in several spots at the Magic Kingdom including Big Top Treats, Main Street Confectionery, and Main Street Bakery (aka Starbucks). We love the holiday-themed cupcakes but really any mini cake topped with a large amount of buttercream frosting is a winning snack in our book!
6. Caramel Apples: We love visiting the Main Street Confectionery and Big Top Treats to check out the fun candy and caramel apples! You'll normally find the "standard" designs including Mickey Mouse but also look for fun designs like Olaf and holiday designs. Stop by Big Top Treats in Fantasyland and you might get to see the apples being created! And don't forget to ask the cast member to slice your apple as it makes for easier snacking.
5. Citrus Swirl: The Citrus Swirl has its place in Magic Kingdom history for certain. The sweet treat was absent from the park for a while but it made its return a while back and it ranks right up there with the Dole Whip. You'll find the Citrus Swirl at the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland.
4. Cotton Candy: You can't go wrong with a bag of spun sugar, right? This is the perfect sweet snack for toting around the parks and snacking on during parades and fireworks. (Just be sure you have some wet wipes for sticky hands and faces!). Stop by the Main Street Confectionery for a bag of cotton candy and you might be lucky enough to get a free sample too!
3. Funnel Cake: Fried dough covered in powdered sugar...this is a perfect sweet treat. Of course you can also choose to have your funnel cake dusted with cinnamon sugar, or topped with chocolate sauce or whipped cream, ice cream, or even fruit. Make a stop at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments just before parade time as this is another great parade-time snack! Or just find a seat and gaze at Cinderella Castle as you enjoy your snack.
2. Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar: Is there anything other snack that is just SO Disney World? We think not (unless it's the Mickey Rice Krispie treat). This chocolate covered ice cream bar in the shape of Mickey Mouse is a must-do snack every time. You'll find them in several spots around the Magic Kingdom. Eat the ears first!
1. Mickey Rice Krispie Treat: This treat will always be our number one sweet snack at the Magic Kingdom (actually at all of Walt Disney World Resort). And it has to be the Krispie Treat with chocolate dipped ears. Nothing else comes close to this snack. Those leftover Disney Dining Plan snack credits? Yep, we use them to stock up on Mickey Rice Krispie Treats for home.
We've only listed a few of the best sweet snacks at the Magic Kingdom and we'd love to hear about your favorite, must-have sweet treats! Leave us a comment and let us know what you love to snack on when you are visiting the Magic Kingdom.

When I had my first trip last September I was so surprised by the big portions in Disney World that I only tried the Rice Krispie treats and a cake cup!
This time round I'm determined to have a dole whip, cinnamon roll, butterfinger cupcake, caramel apple and mickey bar! (And maybe take some krispie treats and fudge home...) Everyone raves about the snacks at WDW, feel like I should just snack my way through my holiday!

The last time we had the cinnamon roll at Gaston's it was really dry. Even with the maple glaze and white icing. The bread was not good. I've noticed this with other cinnamon rolls, too. Except for Cinnabun.
I really miss the hot, fresh caramel corn at Sleepy Hollow by the bucket. And the Mickey turtles at the Main Street Confectionary.

I am part of the Dole Whip cult. Never make a trip without having at least one. But I have yet to have a citrus swirl. I added it to my must have list for our next trip.
