The finalists in the Imaginations design competition have been announced by Walt Disney Imagineering. The competition's purpose is to "nurture the next generation of Imagineers" and bring new perspectives to Walt Disney Imagineering.
The challenge for this year's competition was to take what Disney does best and apply it transportation within a major city. The college students in the competition could take inspiration from Disney theme parks, resorts, cruise ships, and other entertainment venues.
The teams had to create a "theoretical transportation experience" and include vehicle designs that reflect the diversity of their city while being accessible, distinctly Disney, and energy friendly.
The Imaginations finalists for 2015 include: The Wunderkids from the Art Center College of Design; Woollahra from Drexel University; New Orleans Double Rail from Ringling College of Art + Design; Aether from San Jose State University; La Grand Masquerade from Texas Tech University; and Line 55 from University of Nevada, Reno.
The finalists will travel to Walt Disney Imagineering on January 26 to present their projects to a team of Imagineers.
