The Fulfillment Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps Los Angeles area students in need finish high school and college, will be honoring Rich Ross, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, during its November 1 STARS 2011 Benefit Gala.
There are other Disney tie-ins to this year's Gala, as well, including a live performance from the cast of the worldwide theater smash "The Lion King." Look for Kermit the Frog and Jason Segal, star and executive producer of Disney's "The Muppets," to host the affair.
Some 900 guests are expected to attend this year's affair, including Disney Media Networks Co-Chairman and Disney-ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney.
The Fulfillment Fund has been around for over thirty-four years and has provided assistance to low-income students in and around Los Angeles to help them graduate high school and move on to college. Help for the students comes in the form of mentoring and scholarships as well as college counseling.
The STARS 2011 Benefit Gala is set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on November 1.
