Walt Disney World Resort Reportedly Testing Premium Parking at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot

If you choose to park at the Magic Kingdom or Epcot while visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, you might soon be able to pay more money to get a "premium" parking spot that is closer to the main entrance of the parks.

Would you pay an additional fee to park closer to the magic?Would you pay an additional fee to park closer to the magic?

According to several reports Disney is getting ready to test premium parking at both theme parks this week.

The price for these premium spots would be the standard $20 parking fee plus an additional $15. Guests with an annual pass (which includes parking) can pay the $15 surcharge for the premium parking.

Guests at the Magic Kingdom would still need to take the ferry or Monorail to the park's main entrance, but the premium spots are located close to the Transportation and Ticket Center. The premium spots at Epcot will likely save guests a few minutes of walk time.

Would you be willing to pay a total of $35 in parking fees just to save some steps? Let us know in the comments.

I love WDW (APs, just booked our third trip in in a 6-month period despite living 2000 miles away, which makes it something like 50 trips for me in past 28 years), but enough is enough. Premium parking fees? Resort valet fees up to $25/day? Talk about $15/day additional resort fees to cover magic bands and other basic services? This is getting ridiculous.

No way. Sounds like universal, trying to get more money out of us. Doesn't sound Disney at all!

I never have a car with me, so you would think I wouldn't care about this. However- the way they are starting to nickel and dime the guests is really starting to bother me. As much as I Love Disney and understand that it is a business, I think they have finally begun to dive over that edge.

Thomas, I do not believe that this will effect the handicap section of the parking lot. As long as you have a handicap parking tag you will still be given to the appropriate parking section.
