If you've visited the Walt Disney World Resort in the past year you might have noticed that the crowds seemed a bit larger and maybe the stand-by queues were a bit longer. That wasn't your imagination. In 2014 the Magic Kingdom alone welcomed more than 19 million visitors, up 4 percent from 2013.
In a report released by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), it was clear that the Magic Kingdom is the most popular theme park in the world. The report, the 2014 Theme Index: Global Attractions Attendance Report, gives estimates of worldwide theme park attendance.
Disney and the other theme parks don't release their attendance numbers for the report.
In 2014 there were 223 million visits to the top 25 theme parks and amusement parks in the world, an increase of 4.1 percent from 2013. Disney's theme parks in the United States, Europe, and Asia were nine of the top 10 parks on the list. Universal Studios' parks were in second place.
While the Magic Kingdom was the most popular park, Epcot saw more than 11 million guests in 2014 while Disney's Hollywood Studios had more than 10 million.
You can read the full report at the TEA website.

I have been a Disney passholder for over 10 years. As someone who visits the parks on a regular basis I have noticed there is no longer a "slow season". I believe this is because the economy is rebounding, Disney is offering a large verity of options to fit most people's budget. Orlando in general is offering more entertainment options making it more of a destination.
