Miranda Baldwin, an English woman who was found to be unconscious after riding the Magic Kingdom attraction Space Mountain last weekend, remains in the hospital but looks to be improving.
The 48-year-old is still in the intensive care unit at Dr. P Phillips Hospital near Orlando, Florida. A sheriff's statement and family comments have said that the woman is now alert and responding to commands. The woman's exact condition or ailment has not been released.
Last weekend while riding the popular indoor roller coaster, Baldwin appeared to have "experienced an unknown type of medical event." Her two daughters were riding with her at the time. One daughter, upon noticing that her mother appeared "flaccid," tried to hold Baldwin's head for the remainder of the ride.
Space Mountain was temporarily closed per Disney policy, but has since reopened.
