Disney Research Invents Microphone That Transmits Sound through Your Fingertips

If you've ever wanted to send someone a secret message simply by touching their ear, Disney Research has come up with a way to do just that.

This new invention - called the Isihin-Denshin - takes the sounds that are spoken into a microphone and transforms it into a low current inaudible signal that is then sent back into the speaker's body. And this is where it gets really sci-fi - when the person who spoke into the microphone touches another person's ear that inaudible signal vibrates in the person's earlobe, recreating sound.

Remodeled Bathrooms in Magic Kingdom Make a Splash

Restrooms. We all use them; we all want them to be clean, modern, and "Disney-esque." And there's a newly remodeled set of restrooms in the Magic Kingdom that we think are pretty snazzy. Snazzy enough, in fact, to give them a shout-out!

These are the restrooms located in that little underpass between Adventureland and Frontierland, and Disney World has recently updated them to reflect rich Arabian themeing. We have a few photos of the women's restroom (clearly the best choice, we think!) to give you an idea of the changes.

Christmas Hidden Mickeys

We're big fans of finding Hidden Mickeys around here! For those who haven't heard of them, Hidden Mickeys are defined as:

a partial or complete impression of Mickey Mouse placed by the Imagineers and artists to blend into the designs of Disney attractions, hotels, restaurants, and other areas.

Cirque du Soleil La Nouba

Have you seen the only permanent Cirque du Soleil show in Florida?

La Nouba performed its first show at Downtown Disney's West Side in December 1998, in a custom-built freestanding theater. The name La Nouba derives from the French phrase faire la nouba, meaning "to party" or "to live it up." And while many assume that this particular Cirque du Soleil show is especially childlike, or aimed especially at children because of its location in Disney World, I found this to be untrue after seeing the show.
