The Adult Drink Of Your Trip..

Ok since some of you mentioned " The Grey Goose Slushie " on your favourite snack..I have noted it down for my October visit..And since we are staying at WL this year, I promised my DW I would take her on a romantic cruise..So we will sail from WL to MK, then sail onto the Polynesian Resort... wink ...( big hearted eh ) Anyway, I've heard so much about this Lapu Lapu that it's one adult drink I've gotta try..To be honest apart from trying a few Margaritas at La Cava, I don't really have one that is a must have...Is there any one favourite adult drink that you always have on your Disney vacation.?

I'm a margarita kind of guy, so I'm usually hitting the margarita stand in Mexico soon as the World Showcase opens up. I then make my way around the world until I'm on empty, which usually puts me between Germany and France.. At that point, I'm seeking out the next closest place with an alcoholic beverage, i.e. bier in Germany or frozen slushie in France. But for me, it's all about the margaritas. LaCava is a MUST as the evening rolls in... A jalepeno margarita has been my margarita of choice, as of late. awesome

I am also in the margarita category. I'll get one anywhere in Disney, although La Cava is my favorite.. Also since you'll be there during Food and Wine I definitely have to recommend the Singapore Sling from the Singapore booth. If you want your money's worth this is the drink for you.. And they're really tasty, so good that my boyfriend and I make them at home all the time with the recipe that was in the 2012 (?) cookbook.

I was pretty much on the floor after this drink and I can normally hold my alcohol well. If you want a lot of bang for your buck, the Singapore Sling will not disappoint but I think once was enough for me! laugh

I love both the Lapu Lapu and the Grey Goose Slushie - they are two that I always have on vacation.

I indulge in a lot of bubbly at WDW, and there's a beautiful sparkling red brachetto from Italy's Piedmont region they serve at Disney called Rosa Regale. You can find it in the Italian Pavilion, as well as on many other wine lists around property.

I am definitely a huge fan of the margaritas in the mexico pavillon, but my favorite is the Sunken Treasure which they serve at the Mardi Grogs Pool Bar at New Orleans French Quarter. I have not stayed at this hotel for a few years and I can't find it anywhere else on property, but it is still at the top of my list!

Sure! Its..

1 1/2 oz Gin (doesn't have to be anything fancy because you're mixing it with a bunch of other flavors, we usually just go with New Amsterdam)
1 oz Cherry Brandy (again nothing fancy, but it DOES have to be cherry)
1 oz Pineapple juice
1 tsp grenadine
Splash of club soda

Just mix the gin, brandy, pineapple juice and grenadine in a shaker with ice until well mixed and foamy. Pour into a glass, top with a splash of club soda. Add a maraschino cherry if you're feeling fancy. Imagine you are strolling through WS on a nice fall evening in the World. Enjoy Smile

I'm mostly a wine drinker. Which wine depends on what's available.

If I'm cruising the World Showcase during the Food and Wine Festival, I'm going to grab a sparkling pomegranate kir at some point. And a sangria at another point. And maybe something else if there's something that tickles my fancy.

But I also like gin, so perhaps I need to try that Singapore Sling on our next F&W Fest visit.

What is in a Sunken Treasure? Is it rum based? May have to give that one a try!

I'm def not a margarita person. Tequila just doesn't taste good to me. I do however love love love the Smoked Turkey. And the Red Stag and lemonade comes in close second. I guess I'm a bit of a Red Stag fan.

I have never been really big into rum for some reason, and I do love the margaritas buuuuuut, I made the mistake of getting on in late June, mid day in the heat with little food. DS2 who was just 21 and I agreed that that was not one of our brightest ideas. I will probably give the blood orange one a spin (I do like the traditional one as I llllloooooovvvveeee lime) but I do like the blood orange too.

DH is always looking out for a new dark beer and he will join our friend on a a number of beer flights this time around.

I tried Rosa Regale at the Italy Food & Wine Pairing I went to a couple of years. love it. I found it locally and have been tempted on many occassions to buy a bottle but have so far refrained.

Aside from the ones already mentioned,

Dad's electric lemonade from Prime Time restaurant or lounge. I love margaritas but Dad's is my WDW favorite.

1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger citrus vodka (e.g. SKYY Citrus or Absolut Citron)

1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger light rum (e.g. Bacardi Superiour Light)

1/2 fluid ounce Blue Curacao

2 fluid ounces sour mix

Lemon-Lime flavored beverage (e.g. 7up or Sprite) to fill

Lemon wedge garnish

________

You can also add a blue glow cube for that "electric" effect.

This looks wonderful, but I really don't like rum. I wonder if they make it with another alcohol?????? confused

If it makes it any better I had this last year with out meal at 50's and I couldn't taste rum strongly at all - in fact I don't even think I was aware it had rum in until now?! I'm sure if you really didn't want to take the risk they would make it with something else they are very accommodating!

Yeah, I was thinking I would just ask for Vodka. I am not sure we will drink that much that day as our flight leaves that morning at 6:30 AM Central time and we will be eating there at 4;30 ET, so we may be a bit lagged as it is...LOL
