Best Day To Start and End Your Disney World Trip?

Which day of the week do you think is the best to arrive at Disney World? Which day is the best to leave?

Weekdays are always better (and cheaper for resort rooms) than weekends. For my 12-day trips, I like to arrive on a Monday so I only have to spend the extra money for one weekend.

Weekends are also busier so it's nice to get the smaller crowds during the week.

Great point on weekends being more expensive! I like to arrive on Sunday -- then we have all of those glorious, low-crowd weekdays before the next weekend!

Hi,

I usually arrive on Wednesday for the break in the airfare, which is often at least $20.00 cheaper than if you fly on a Friday.

Definitely a weekday. I hate the depressing scene of all those families leaving every weekend. I always feel so sorry for them.

I actually love arriving Sunday morning. I watch all the people leaving and think maybe I'll have the parks to myself. Smile

Thats what we like to do too cdub, and in fact a few years ago we did walk into the MK and there was no one else around on main street. I had to ask a CM if Mickey over slept! I got a picture of the Castle down Main St and no one else in the picture. That was one of our best days ever in the park.

I agree, I've found Sundays, particularly early in the day, can be really sparse.

I've never arrived on a weekday, we usually arrive Saturday afternoon.. 4pmish.. by the time we're at our Resort, our room, etc.. it's about.. 7 or 8pm... then that's the day we use for Downtown Disney. Sunday or Monday almost always is Animal Kingdom because I like going there for the early morning entrance.
In March I am trying it--arriving on a Thursday! we'll see how it goes...

Saturdays are nice to arrive too. You get the whole Sunday turnover. Thursdays are a bit rough because you arrive right before everyone who's taking a long weekend and all the locals, although I've had some really nice Thursdays. How long are you staying for Donald?

I love arriving Sunday and hit the parks first thing Sunday and leave on Friday or Saturday (our trips are shorter). I love those low crowds and cheaper rates.

Is anyone a fan of a mid-week start? I could see that being good too.

I think mid week is great for being off the normal cycle, but I just love to bridge the work week with the "freebie" time of weekends. Turns a 5 day holiday into a 9 day one Smile

We'll be leaving the next Weds.. so we'll see how it goes. I'll be taking my Godchildren for ther 1st trip, so I want to make sure they get to see as much as possible! We're in the L.A. area, so Disneyland isnt a problem, but flying cross country to WDW is something else!

Awesome I love hearing about first timers trips so you'll need to come back and write a TR!

Hey - I think you'll be here during Epcot Flower & Garden Fest! Extra bonus - that's awesome!
