California Grill...The New Look..

Hmmmmm....Oh good morning by the way...I've just read today's review of the above restaurant on Disney food blog..Now last year this was my first experience at this well known signature place, and the food and ambience didn't let me down..However, I was looking at the photos of the new refurb, and to me it looks way too bright..I could be wrong but last year the dining area looked more laid back with dimmer lighting..Has anyone been to CG, before and after, so to speak..If so, what are your opinions on the new look.?..

The new look is magnificent. We have been there many time before the refurb and were just there in Oct after they opened. I'm not a fan of the new table setup, since now it will be hard for a couple to get a window seat like before, but we go for the food mostly and we where not let down.

Interesting point of views Sir..I agree about the quality of food..Quite outstanding. We were seated at the window opposite MK and the ambience was great, as was our Dolly Parton lookalike server, with her southern drawl..LOL.. laugh ...But I thought the new look was extremely bright with all those ceiling lights.Do they dim the lights during Wishes.?..

I haven't see it in person yet, but from pictures I think it looks great. I'm completely in love with the new chandeliers. The colors are very yellow - but California is called "The Golden State" so that's appropriate.

I just read that review, very disappointing. sad
It will still be on my ADR list though, California Grill has been one of my favorites and I'm sure that any kinks will get worked out quickly.

I had the meatballs for the appetizer and the 24 hour short rib filet. My mom had the oak fired filet.

Well how were they JoAnn? Lately I've heard the 24 hour short ribs are nothing special. I know the filet is excellent. What did you think of the meatball? AJ from DFB wasn't real happy with the short ribs.

I liked the short ribs. A little marbled than I normally would eat. Loved the meatballs. My mom ordered the goat cheese ravioli so I got to try that too. I was very pleased with the meal.

I loved the scallops, they were great. Not salty at all.

Awesome! I always always get steak pretty much. But I'm really wanting to change it up this time and get the scallops. I love scallops. I'm just worried I'll still be hungry. The dish seems kind of small?
