Customer Service...Disney is doing it right!

I was in WDW from September 11-19 and to call it a roller-coaster is almost an understatement (We had some awful travel experiences both to and from Florida with our airline) that being said the Disney part of our vacation was magical...I'm not going to let our travel experiences taint the whole vacaction

On our way to Florida form Halifax, Nova Scotia all of our luggage got lost and was not returned to us until the late afternoon on the 3rd day of our vacation. I was able to keep my spirits up and go with the flow until that 3rd morning when after many many calls aircanada could still not tell me when our luggage would be arriving. I was stuck in Florida with only 1 pair of pants and no bathing suit and it was really starting to affect my mood and my ability to enjoy my vacation.

On that 3rd morning my fiance was still asleep but I was unable to sleep so i went to drink my coffee on a bench looking over the water at Coronado springs to try and relax. Long story short I was taken to the front desk by a staff member and within 20 minutes the disney staff had me and my fiance in a fully comped cab drive to Walmart and had the tshirts and toiletries (totaling $100) we had charged to our room to get through our first 2 days without luggage taken off our bill....I was really touched by the level of care and customer service I was treated to after the terrible experience I had been having with my air line. None of what we were dealing with was Disney's fault but they still went that far to make it right...wow!

(on the way home our plane lost cabin pressure and we were diverted to Tampa where I was stuck in a terminal and delayed over 24hrs in getting home...definitely my worst air travel experience ever!...air canada need lessons from Disney on guest care and recovery!)

I guess this is just one more reason to love disney!

That sounds awful on the part of aircanada...shame on them!...but Disney was definitely awesome. Kudos to them for taking such good care of you...and I'm so happy that you enjoyed your magical trip with the exception of aircanada's epic fail. Sending you pixie dust for being a great trooper!

I'm so sorry you had that experience with Air Canada. I'd like to think it was unusual, but unfortunately, it's not. Foolishly perhaps we are also flying AC for our trip in 10 days - we got a deal flying from London, Ont., and just couldn't pass it up. But we will be doing carry on luggage only, and doing laundry once if we need to. We've learned over the years to carry 2 days worth of clothes and all our toiletries and essentials in a carry on bag, just in case.

Thumbs up for Disney! What a way to salvage your pixie dust, and make this vacation memorable for all the right reasons. I'm so glad you were able to have a great holiday, in spite of the aggravations.

mickey Fantastic magic for you from Disney! They've really gone above and beyond for my family as well when the airline let us down. It was what made my husband a "believer" when it comes to the mouse. SO gla dto hear that they helped make your troubled trip awesome while you were in their care.

Disney is great in that aspect petriedish. When we were down last with our friends Tom & Del, and Del ended up in the hospital, after being in the hospital a good part of the night, we came back to our room to find they had done turn down service for us and left get well soon cards for Del and a left notes to call the manager on duty if anything was needed or if we needed rides to the hospital or anything. It was really stuff they didn't have to do, but that little bit of "Magic" made things feel a little bit better.
