Disney recalls watches sold in theme parks

In case anyone bought these and did not see the recall announcement:

Federal regulators and the Walt Disney Co.'s theme-park division on Wednesday recalled roughly 1,200 watches sold in recent months in Disney's U.S. theme parks.

The recall involves $30 light-up watches featuring one of three animated characters " Buzz Lightyear of the Toy Story films, Tinker Bell and Lightning McQueen of Cars " that were sold between November 2010 and January 2011 in stores at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, aboard Disney Cruise Line ships and in Disney stores at Orlando International Airport.

The battery reacts with the stainless steel backplate causing irritation to the wearer.

No bueno!! I did not buy said watch but I know Disney must hate being in the recall business!

They have so much merchandise made by so many companies I bet recalls aren't as uncommon as we'd think. This one was probably just noteworthy because of the popularity of the product.

Trust me..recalls on kid stuff happens all the time. When I was hunting for the essentials when I was pregnant it seemed like every other thing was recalled or had been recalled or the company had just gone through a recall. Oy vay..it's more than Tylenol and Peanut Butter.
