yes, yes and YES! I am SO excited, it's a REAL mini vacation! It will be so cool to stay for the fireworks and not have to drive home! I'm thinking we will join you at MK for fireworks. We will get there Thursday, probably earlier, and stay til Sat. whenever. We've been to the All Star Sports but never stayed there. I couldn't believe that there were rooms available, much less at a really good discount for pass holders. SO EXCITED!

Ok Mandy - I am not missing you this time! I have several MK days built in this trip! Just give me your daily assignments via PM or the board when I get there and I will find you!

I'm normally in Tomorrowland or in Adventureland and I usually work mornings.

Doc, we have just come back from SSR and really enjoyed it, we didn't use the pull out bed but I found the regular bed quite hard. I would say if you are using the buses to request Grandstand as your area, we had room 8312 which was a studio, it was close enough to the main building and right by the first bus pick up so you always got a seat. The downside was it took about 15 mins to go round the rest of the resort. Although the room overlooked the main internal bus route we were never disturbed by traffic.

Thanks Sally! I have actually stayed at SS before, but solo, so never used the pull out beds. I liked the resort too - very quiet and green. I especially like how you can park close to your room/ building - nice if you want to go offsite or drive anywhere.

SSR is our home resort. We've never had a problem staying there. We have stayed twice in Congress Park and once in The Spring. The counter service was pretty good and The Turf Club is an awesome place for dinner. They could use a good all day restaurant though. We also had are car and drive everywhere, so getting around the resort was never a problem.

yeah muchlove Can't wait to see you. We're doing HS Thursday, not sure Fri. AM, some pool time Fri. afternoon, then we'll meet you at MK for FIREWORKS!!! So excited to be staying on property! Keep in touch when you get here, we may be up for the Boston (Don't look back) band earlier in the week also, we do that spur of the moment depending on weather/life etc. We'll let you know if we do head up earlier in the week, probably will, Mike and Remlee are looking forward to seeing them.

See you soon!

~ My teens are appalled that we meet up with someone we met on line. I guess we've stressed internet safety well enough. Remlee wants to know how we know you are not a serial killer! I told her we have met you before and that you are a media specialist so you can't be that bad, plus you love Disney, but she loves to give us a hard time.

Well, tell Remlee that Mr. Hub is WAY more shady than I am. Just sayin. mickey

Will your kids be coming with you on this trip?

I will text when I arrive. Will probably take it slow that first night, after the 8 hour drive. May just wander around MK. I made some FPs if I arrive in time.

Just a few more days!!!!

stars Hope you have a wonderful vacation. BTW, the mine train is a really smooth ride with amazing animatronics! You'll love it muchlove
And the FotLK is just as great as before, although IMO the new theater looked identical to the old theater. But the show was still fantastic!

It's good your kids are cautious about this sort of thing, but I doubt you're likely to be murdered by a serial killer in the middle of the Magic Kingdom. There are cheaper places to stalk victims.

Hey Friends! I arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon - easy drive, especially when both hands work (almost - need to do my PT exercises before heading out!). Had some issues also with the door to my SS room - they had to replace the battery to the reader for me. But the bands are working now - had to go back one time to get it fixed, and a second time for the bad reader battery. awesome

I am in Congress Park, with a view of Fultons off my 3rd floor porch. I am actually going to get out there this AM and hoof around a bit on those pretty walkways along the river. Out of shape big time with this injury - could not do much for a while.

Stayed out until nearly park closing at MK for Wishes, Celebrate the Magic, and a few favorite rides - could not score a FP for the Mine Train. I do have a couple for later in the week! I was SOOO falling asleep on the bus home - worried I would fall over on the nice teenager next to me.

Had an awesome salad for dinner at Tomorrowland Terrace - Citrus Shrimp! Mandarin oranges, peeled shrimp, nice gingery tasting dressing - so refreshing. And a big bowl for 8.99. I did not even get a snack later - it was hot and steamy after the afternoon Florida rain. Had also munched on some almonds and a banana earlier - that'll do it too. Decided to give my rehabbing arm a rest and only eat breakfast in the room this trip. Summer salads are awesome in The World. cool

Crowds are really light for summer, but as my memory of this week in the past serves, it will start getting crazy on July 3 and stay that way till after the 4th.

This is my 2nd stay at SS, and I gotta say that it is growing on me. The beds are awesome - don't want to get out of it this AM! - and it is sooooo peaceful and quiet. I can see this being a place I will like a lot in my golden years ( wait a minute, I am chronologically about there...just not mentally). biggrin

There are a lot of walls up for improvements at MK! Kinda yucky. And no Peoplemover - a first day tradition for me! Oh well, you all know I will be back again, and again, and again...

Plans for today include an ADR at Tonys Town Square, because I just want to see it. They have a caprese salad thing with tomatoes and mozzarella that looks nice - it is an app I think.

Mr. Hub, I did eye The Turf Club for dinner last night, but decided I wanted to eat faster and walk around the park after driving all day. The Artists Palette quick service here at SS did have a nice salad. Disney gets a huge thumbs up from me for all these lighter food options! I know that anywhere pretty much that I go there will be one of these choices - except maybe Casey's, etc... mickey I am also impressed that the prices of the salads are totally comparable with many you would get outside - I have paid more than 8.99 for a huge dinner salad with shrimp in an oCharleys, Chilis, etc. - way to go Mickey.

Just looked - I have a FP for the Mine Train tonight! Yippppeeeee! I want to see the flag retreat at 5 before my 5:50 ADR too. And catch the Dapper Dans on Main Street if I can. Probably the 3 PM parade too. Another MK afternoon/evening. Will probably hit Epcot for a few things, a light lunch, and a spin around the WS.

So off for now - so excited to be back, with about a 65-70 percent right hand. Getting there gradually!

Later! yay
