Hey all,
I took my very first visit to the World on Thanksgiving week, and even spent the day there too. It was another solo trip, and I had a blast yet again. There is NO WAY I can compete with the trip report masters on this board - yes I am talking to YOU Hubs, Mase, Allie, Magic Mirror, Karlipants, crazycatperson, and others.....but I am just gonna give a few highlights of things that I did for the first time, or that meant a lot to me.
And SO sorry - no pics - left the camera at home (not on purpose). However, I am actually trying to unplug a bit when away from work...so that worked for me. (but this board doesn't help that cause...I have to come here).
I did not post daily as I did last trip either. Decided to relax a LOT more this time.
I gotta say....the week before THKSGVG is an awesome time to go!!!! Crowds aren't bad, weather is wonderful, Christmas stuff is up to see. The only thing I would change is being able to stay a little after the holiday - I only had the Friday. Epcot starts that awesome Christmas around the world storytelling thing at every country, and I was only able to snag a few of those.
Epcot at Christmas is so awesome. BUT the decorations at HS and MK were to die for as well. I do NOT remember it being so full on 15 years ago when I was there with my now grown kiddos.
High spots for me this trip:
The Candelight Processional package! Dinner at Teppan, my favorite, including apps, a drink, dessert, any main course, preferred seating, and a good spot for Illuminations too. Geena Davis did a great job, orchestra was wonderful, Voices of Liberty continue to give chills. Top rate, highly recommend, and will do this every year!!
Visiting the resorts!!! The Wilderness Lodge was so beautiful. AKL too, GF gingerbread house was incredible. I also saw the Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Yacht Club, but they did not grab me the way the WL and AKL did for warmth. I can see myself plopping down in those lobbies for a sit and watch, read, drink coffee...just chill. It felt a lot slower paced there.
More later....gotta tell you about some treats I tried for the first time too. I had to bring some home to get me over the post Disney hump.
Later!
