Do you use Pal Mickey anymore?

We have Pal Mickey and my son loves playing with him at home. I'm wondering if we should bring it this fall! Do you use him?

We do not have one but I understand that even though they do not sell them any more, he is still usable and supported by Disney in the park.

I would say take him with you. Our Pal has not made the trip with us in a few years now. The last time we took him he spent the day in one of our bags and then you could not hear him. However, we did not have any children with us. I do think your son would really enjoy him.

Simply put it is like a tour guide in a Mickey plush toy, and it talks to you.

Pal Mickey?! There is something I haven't heard in awhile. You know as much as I saw that pushed in the parks I don't think I ever saw anyone walking around with him.

I think if they still use it I may try to find one for my daughter. I think she would think it was the coolest thing ever.

http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-PAL-MICKEY-INTERACTIVE-TUXEDO-VERSION-SPECIAL-EDIT-/170674105448?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bcf82c68#ht_862wt_1378

But here is the description:

Rare Interactive Special Edition Pal Mickey Disney World Plush this one does not have clip, lanyard or bowtie.

This is Tuxedo version no longer being sold.

This collectible is no longer being sold Press his hand and he speaks to you and will play games with you. He would tell you facts about Disney World as you went through the parks, but that feature is not currently available at Disney World. He does still interact with you. Mickey is about 11 inches tall.

PERFECT CONDITION

So is that true?

According to Disney's website, Pal Mickey isn't being sold anymore but still works in the parks.

I don't get it. From all the sites I've been reading... these things have been selling great. This seems like a cool thing... why didn't they keep this one up? I mean with a price tag of $68... yeah... its a bit much, but if its still supported when its been discontinued all this time... then this thing is worth it. Im going to try to grab one on eBay for my daughter. She will get a kick out of it when we go this November.

Wish they would say something about it then. Don't want to waste money on an old one if they are making a new one

They used to tell you parade times and when shows were..as well as talk to you about random things. Is that what they mean by in the parks?

Im interested to see if they do upgrade this now that you brought it up Mase my DS would probably think this wad the coolest thing since Peanut Butter and Jelly.

guess we'll have to find Pal Mickey and dust him off. I think he needs new batteries, and we'll see if he works! Hopefully I can talk Riley into carrying him around. mickey

laugh laugh I enjoy making people LOL. Although not this one friend I have who actually says "LOL" instead of laughing. That's obnoxious.

I think we may actually bring him next month for our trip. My son plays with him a lot now, because he tells silly jokes. I remember when we bought him years ago, he did tell park times, parade times and little facts. It was a lot of fun!

It's so funny. I don't have a Pal Mickey, but I do have one of the Teddy Ruxpin-like Mickey dolls. I don't think he works anymore (batteries have been dead forever) but the kids LOVE to play with him still.

For your amusement: We used to have a "Pal Mickey's Grown-Up Pals Club" (No kids!) that had about 600 adult members around the world. Of course only a fraction were active, but that was okay. We had a Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea cruise on the Disney Magic. These pics are amusing. Really!

I own all three English-speaking versions of Pal Mickey, but I don't take him to the parks anymore.
