I'm not a DVC owner, but I'm curious if you guys have any minor improvements that could be added at very little cost. Any inconveniences that could be solved easily?

As a DVC member that uses the studios rather than the larger units I would to see DVC stock REAL dishes and flatware in the studios rather than the plastic knives, forks, and spoons and paper plates and bowls that are put in the studios at the present time. And even then they only stock a two or three day supply. When we first arrive (SSSHHHHHH, don't tell anyone) we usually go to the food courts and "stock up" on plastic knives, etc. and paper plates etc. Heck! I have even been known to acquire a few extra pkgs. of sweet & low and other condiments such as Mayo, ketchup, mustard etc. Now don't forget you are ALL sworn to secrecy.
I love it, but I think its only worth it if you can purchase it right then and there. Putting payments down on it I think defeats the purpose of it.
DVC isnt for everyone, but if your going at least once a year... its something to consider. I cant remember the math, but I think after 5 years we will have broken even, and then have 34 years left to visit. We get the big 2 rooms with the living room and kitchen. It is sooooooooooooooo nice. In all honesty... its just hard for me to be like... YES... you need to be a DVC member! But its just not for everyone. We avoided coming to Disney for 5 years so we could save up to do this for the next 40 years.
One of the perks I can say I enjoy is a nice discount on the annual pass. The initial buy in is tough... but renewing it is very close to buying a 7 day park hopper. So if your going more than 7 days out of the year, its very much worth it. It might even be cheaper than the 7 day. Its been over a year since I looked at it since were doing a 5 day park hopper this year.

I"m not a member but I often rent points from one of my workers.. and I think they could come do the Mousekeeping every day instead of once every 4 days!
That's a good one about the real plates and spoons. I wonder if kids just destroy and lose them too quickly?
The only thing we used last time were the cups. I think we just grabbed plasticware for everything else. But it is nice that some nice silverware and plates are there though.

I DVC. We have been members since 2009. My husband was not to keen on joining but once he saw we could go other places besides Disney, he was hooked. But we have only been to Disney since we joined. We have gone every year since joinning and twice last year. I it!!! I don't know if DVC is for everybody, but I am a Disney Freak.... so it works for us. No complaints here!!!

Hey kandy, welcome to WDW For Grownups. Most DVC members I know rarely use them anywhere but WDW. (Although I believe Vettelover is going to Vero Beach?) I wonder if the biggest purpose of those "other destinations" is to get reluctant participants like your husband on the bus.
What's your home resort, by the way?
Brad...thanks for the welcome. Our home resort is Animal Kingdom.....LOVE IT!!!. I think you are right about how WDW gets you to sign up. We haven't been anywhere else but Disney. We are planning a Disney cruise next June.

I'm with kandy62.. no complaints here...Disney is the best.
On larger type things... I am hoping for a refurb of BCV soon. A couple of years ago we saw a refurb on BCR rooms, but nothing in BCV. My wife says that the refurb of rooms is on a strict rotation and WDW sticks to that schedule. The BCR rooms were older than BCV rooms is why they were not refurbed... Still not bad though... but ready for a refurb.
David, I haven't stayed in BCV. How (as far as need of a refurb) do they compare to say Old Key West?
Brad,
Haven't had the Old Key West Experience, yet...but BCV has had new TV's, Clocks, and phones 2 years ago, but carpeting/ infrastructure types of things are due... just due... not over due...the Marketplace, which is the store/food offering for Beach Club also had a huge upgrade 2-3 years ago...very good!
