Where would you suggest staying for a family of 6? There are 2 adults and 4 children, ages 12,10,8, and 6. I have a cousin who is coming to WDW with her husband and kids. I suggested perhaps Ft. Wilderness cabins or a suite at AOA. Any suggestions?

Those are great suggestions!
Depending on their budget they could also check out renting a Deluxe Villa at any of the DVC Resorts. They're not inexpensive, but the 2 bedroom villa is really wonderful for families of that size. It has a full kitchen, and wash/dryer, two bedrooms, two-three baths and a jacuzzi tub right in the unit. To make it more economical they might want to look into renting DVC points from a member or point broker. Try here http://dvcrequest.com/
Staying on Disney property is always the best choice. So when you visit Disney World be sure to stay on Disney Property. The cheap way to go is probably to stay off property but trust me, staying outside of Disney World isn't worth it. It gets very difficult to go from park to park since you have to take a bus.
I am a big fan of FW. The cabins hold 6, but the one bathroom and general lack of privacy can be a problem for some folks.
On the plus side, the amenities of the campground are great.
Are they going to have their own vehicle?
Thanks everyone! They definately want to stay on property. Not sure if they will have a vehicle. Still deciding.
Stay on property if budget allows. One fun place with all kinds of room is the Treehouses at Saratoga springs.
you get three bedrooms two baths and a kitchen bar set up. They are great for a big group.
Hello Therock!
The Tree Houses are a fantastic idea!
The cabins at fw have great things for kids that age to do, and with the full kitchen and grill you can save quite a bit on food. And an added bonus is mousekeeping will do your dishes every morning
The cabins are the best with kids. Also depending on which park they plan to spend most of their time in also counts. Ft Wilderness is a great park for going to the MK. There is a boat from the campground. The only downside is I would also recommend renting a electric cart to get around the campground.
Oooh...that's a toughie!
I think with the kid to adult ratio, you would do well at AoA....can't remember if they have one bathroom or two...does anyone else know the answer?
That always seems to be the make it or break it answer for me!
We're traveling with six next spring, but it's 4 adults, 2 kids, so I think we're going with two separate rooms.
But for you, I think the AoA suite would be a marvelous new, fun place to them to try.
I think I recall that there are 2 baths in the AOA suites, but don't take that as fact.

There are two bathrooms in the suites.
I agree you need to be in a resort and even if there are 4 of you 2 bathrooms are better. My only complaint the value and moderate resorts is the size of the bathrooms.
