I have wanted to go an Alaskan cruise for as long as I can remember. As part of my celebrating turning 50 all year long, I'm finally fulfilling that dream. I am going on a 7 night Alaskan cruise on the Disney Wonder in a couple of weeks.
I fly to Vancouver two days before the cruise. I will be traveling all day and get in late afternoon. So will grab some dinner when I get there and chill for the night. Friends who are also going on the cruise, get in around 12:30.
Sunday, we will explore Vancouver. We are looking at doing a hop on / hop off tour of the city and 'Fly Over Canada'.
Monday, we are meeting fellow cruisers staying at the same hotel for breakfast before heading to the port. It will be a busy day with checking in, finding our cabins, a meet & greet for the Facebook group and exploring the ship.
You can watch us sail away on the webcam a round 7:15pm Eastern -

Tuesday is a day at sea. We are going to a pajama breakfast at Triton's (one of the main dining restaurants) with the Facebook group. After breakfast I want to do the ship tour of the adult only areas. I signed up for a wine tasting at 12:15. A pub crawl is also scheduled this day with the Facebook group.
Wednesday, we will be at Dawes Glacier. There will Frozen related events throughout the day. I saw on a TV special about DCL that they bring a piece of a glacier on board. I'm not sure if they still do this.
Thursday, we will be in port in Skagway. My friends and I are doing the Yukon Expedition. It takes you through the Yukon territory (back in to Canada) and it stops at a musher camp. I can play with puppies. This is an all day excursion. We are in port until 8:00pm. Depending on how I am feeling when we get back, I may hit up a brewery to add to my list.
Friday, we will be in port in the state capital of Juneau. My friends are going on an excursion. I am going to explore city and possibly hit the state historical museum. A brewery stop will definitely be made. For those of you who don't know, my brother and I like to hit local craft breweries wherever we are. I have to 191 to date (my brother is closer to 600). There are very few things I can say I did that my brother hasn't. Visiting a brewery in Alaska will be one of those things. I have also signed up for a mixology class.
Saturday, we will be in port in Ketchikan. My friends and I signed up for a character breakfast. Then they are off for another excursion. I will be hanging in town with a friend who I met through the Facebook group.
Sunday is our last full day and a day a sea. I will be having brunch at Palo with some members of the Facebook group followed by the chocolate and liquor tasting.
Throughout the week, I will be playing trivia, watching the shows and eating & drinking. I did schedule a massage but canceled it. I signed up for a lot of gift exchanges with the FB group plus I am getting stuff for the kids at the pajama breakfast. Something had to give.
I will check in as often as I can (mostly when we are in port).
So excited!!!
