House of Blues Orlando?

Would love to hear some thoughts on this place. I've never been to ANY House of Blues. Do you have to buy tickets to a show to eat there?

No, the restaurant is separate from the venue! They do a Pass the Line thing where if you eat before your show and keep the receipt, you get to, in fact, pass the line, lol.

I've been to the ones in Dallas, Chicago, and Myrtle Beach in addition to Orlando. Dallas was my favorite and that was only because they allowed cameras. Only recently did the rest take away the camera policy. I haven't seen a show since then, but I've always enjoyed HOB shows, minus the camera thing. If any band I ever like decides to play one again, I'd love to go back and experience a camera-allowed show!

This has been a place I want to visit eventually as well... May have to see if anyone is coming in November this year.

No cameras? In the restaurant or just in the show area? That seems silly! Why wouldn't they want to you to take pics of your favorite bands? Thanks for the tip on the pass the line thing; I had no idea. awesome

Yeah, for as long as I can remember, it's always been a no camera policy inside the venue. I have no idea why! My first show of my favorite band was at the Myrtle Beach HOB and I remember my little 16yo self was so sad at the fact that I'd have no pictures from it, LOL.

We tried this place on this trip. The food was actually pretty good, but there was something that wasn't quite clicking with me. Not sure how much of a hurry I will be in to go back.

That's great information, I didn't know that. Do they try to sell you pictures or videos of the show or something?

We've done HOB in Myrtle Beach several times..and no you don't have to go to a show there to eat. It's actually pretty good food. I had some Jack Daniel's chicken there before that is yummy!

It's not somewhere I'd die to eat at though just because we have one in Myrtle Beach.

Disney Food Blog definitely left me wanting to try it with their review. Mmmm....bread pudding. I've never been, but I've always wanted to go.

Quick question...Does house of blues always have music while eating dinner?

My dad is a HUGE blues/jazz fan, so I was wondering if this would be a good choice for him.

That is a great suggestion! The other day they had a discount code where you could get a $25 gift certificate for $2.

My only contribution to this thread is that their bar-b-que sauce is AMAZING. They no longer sell it in their store at the restaurant or online, and it makes me a sad panda.

Is that the Jack Daniels sauce? I remember getting chicken covered with Jack Daniels sauce there once and it was delicious.

Has anyone been to the Gospel Sunday brunch? I'm thinking of trying it for my February trip.

I haven't but one of my good friend has and she really enjoyed it.

Here's the piece I wrote about it last year, it got a couple of comments from other people who went and enjoyed it.

I went in (I believe) 2007.. But I shall confirm that. My brother wanted to go and see The Flaming Lips there, I'm also into music too and my parents had a meal in the restaurant next door, we went there just before the show to eat. I'll just say that I wish I actually went to see something different. Personal taste, wasn't really my thing.. I was really tired too! It was really busy too and it's got two floors!

Great place though! Smile
