Y'know, a few of my pin-trading friends here have a scam ..... er ... I mean a scheme going where they buy stuff available in the US for their UK/European friends, in return for pins and merchandise buying by them from Disneyland Paris and UK Disney Stores.

I just heard news on the radio that JCP is planning on opening on Thanksgiving Night at 8:30 pm and will continue through to the next day, which is Black Friday! So now, the question is, when will they release the snowglobes?
I have a sinking feeling that I'll be going to the Mall on Thanksgiving night.

Anyone heard anymore about this? I was just told of an unconfirmed rumor that even though Penny's will be opened at 8:00 pm on Thanksgiving night, they will start distributing the snow globes at 4:00 am on Black Friday.
Wish they'd just tell us when they are going to have the darn thing out already.
BTW, I was at Penny's yesterday, and in the men's section, they had a couple of Disney t-shirts that were selling for $10 each (on sale). And they weren't bad-looking either. I almost bought them, but then I thought, maybe I'll get a better deal on Black Friday. After all, they weren't busy at all when I walked in on a Friday evening.
They also had Woody toy, with the string you pull on the back to make it say something.

So here are our loot from early, EARLY this morning.
We got to Penney's a quarter till 4 am this morning. They were still not handing them out yet, so we went shopping in the store. There were already a few people waiting around for the snow globes. 5 mins till 4, we walked back to the distribution area and they were already handing them out. So we got ours.
After we got all the stuff we wanted to buy, we went to a cashier to check out. She then saw our snow globes and made a remark about it. We told her we came to Penney's every year on Black Friday to get the globes and to shop there, and were disappointed they didn't have one last year. She then told us that they have a limited quantity of the 2012 snow globes. She made a phone call and told the person on the other end of the line to reserve 2 for us! What a wonderful person!
We then walked back to where they were handing the globes out and told the person about the 2012 snow globes, and sure enough, she brought out 2 for us!! What a stroke of luck!
It made it all worthwhile.

Pixie dust at Penney's how wonderful. I like Penney's it has this homely feel to it (well it did have last year, think the one I went in this year had been revamped) and I love the snow globes x

Just so you know, today, I went to the JC Penney store here at the Woodfield Mall, and went to their customer service center to ask if they have anymore 2012 Snow Globes. They did! So I got two more! They also have a few of the 2013 ones left.
I talked to one of the customer service person. I asked if these were made last year but were never distributed, or if they were made this year and retro-dated to 2012. She said the latter. They made it for those who were collecting them and wanted to have an unbroken set.
