Length of Stay

How long do you usually stay when you go to Disney World?

My family usually takes trips on the shorter side (I need more DVC points) with 3-5 nights being our normal length of stay. I think that that gives us a decent break from reality without putting us too far in debt. There's no way you can do everything in one trpi these days so I'm not sure that I feel like I'm missing anything with shorter trips. I would love to take 7-14 day trips but right now that's just not possible.

I usually do 4 nights/5 days because that's all I can get hubby to do. He likes Disney but he's not as fanatical as I am. It gives us enough time to hit all of the major parks and to pig out at many of the scrumptious restaurants. I'd love to do 7-10 days sometime, but it will either be a solo trip or a trip with friends. Here's wishing!

Always 2 weeks, hey we might as well make the trip worthwhile. Even our upcoming DL trip will be that long even though we only have 5 day PH tickets.

Never less than 6 nights, usually 8-9 nights. Just like Vettelover, gotta make the trip worthwhile! mickey

We usually do 6 nights but we keep adding days here and there. Our Jan trip will be 7 nights, and we are looking forward to sometime doing a 2 week trip.

Up until about 10 years ago, we'd only hit WDW for a day or two. As my kids got older, we'd stay at one of the local hotels (or my sister-i-law would set us up with a timeshare) for 5-7 days. A few years ago we finally stayed on site starting at the Pop Century ( we got to Florida early, and my cousins cancelled our family plans, so we stayed at the Pop for a few days, before going over to AKL Jambo House). Since then we joined the DVC. Last year for my son's graduation we decided to resort hop, and spent 4 nights at the AKL, 4 nights at the Boardwalk, and being I had no more points spent 4 nights at the Coronado. That was our longest trip yet. I have booked at 14 night vacation for just the DW, and I in January,.. it can't get here fast enough...lol

So far it's always been 7 or 8 days. I would like to stay longer some day - 2 weeks sounds heavenly!

We usually book 8 nights/9 days but only do parks 5 days out of the trip and they're not always full days. I wish we could be there longer just to enjoy different resorts and dining.

4 nights/ 3 days. We get the "FL Resident 3-Day Pass" and always go up the night before to hang out at our Disney resort hotel. We usually go to the pool, walk the grounds, and the kids go to the arcade. It gets us reved up for the first big day at the parks.

We started off 6 days 6 nights but the time seemed to go by so fast so now it is 8 days 8 nights....that amount of time is perfect! It gives us lots of time to visit the parks, shop and just relax at the hotel.

Seven nights. We've always gone on a timeshare exchange, and they're a week long.

We usually plan for 7 days /6 nights. That seems to give us plenty of time for DTD and a day at each park then we have the last two days to relax or see anything we missed. Depending on how tired we are depends on how long we stay the 7th day since we drive we can leave at will. We have also found ourselves there a night early and stayed the extra night in our resort.

The last two years I went for 8 days / 7 nights. This year I'll be there for 9 days / 8 nights.

It is not worth me going for less than 7 days. Flights cost too much. Also it is easier to take longer times off work for some reason

6 days, 6 nights with 2 days at Universal for us this time. Ideally I'd like to stay there for 2 weeks, with 2 days at Universal, 6 or 7 days at Disney parks, and the rest of the days for relaxing, pool time, and resort hopping.

My shortest visit was 2 nights with a week cruise. If I'm just doing WDW I like a minimum of 7 nights. I'd love to do a two week trip and change resorts mid trip just to experience the World differently. I know DW wouldn't stay that long so part of it would be solo... biggrin

Jan and I would useualy stay 5 nights. We always stayed at a value resort or Ft. Wilderness. We seldom made dining reservations and mostly ate at counter service locations. Never went to the parks. That is why we could afford to go 4 times a year making a total, before Jan passed. of 56 trips and only went to the Magic Kingdon twice. once in 1971 opening weekend and once in 1990. We certainly were different from just about all of you but most of our life and love was magical anyway.

7 days, always. May need to add a few days though on our next one just so we can fit in some other things off property and because we have chosen to drive instead of fly from now one. This will save us some money and allow us to use it for extra days and other things.

At least 11-12 nights at BCV during F&WF....depending on the shuffling of DVC points....every so often we have more to use, like last year, and we had a 15 night'er...

and then either the week before or after the Super Bowl we have either a 4 or 5 night stay at BLT

Like this topic/thread...but it makes me start the DVC chant that my wife and I do at least weekly if not daily-

"More points!, More points!, More points!" Smile

Joe, as I get older I see myself and hubby going for more trips to WDW to enjoy the 'resorts'. I do love the theme parks but I'm sure they will lose their appeal somewhat and we will spend more time just relaxing a the hotel and enjoying being 'at disney' Smile

We haven't been enough times to have a "usual". Whatever we can manage.

We are usually adding a WDW trip onto a visit with Nana. Last year it was a family trip for 7 nights before surprising Nana. This year, we are leaving DS with Nana and having 3 adult nights. Before that, it was 2 nights with Nana and her Florida discount. It's all good.

Even when it's a short trip, I know we'll be back.

Precious picture of you guys. A magical life and love is a very special gift. So glad you have so many wonderful shared Disney memories.

I love Ft. Wilderness! I totally agree that you can have the magic without ever going to the parks. My family camped for one month in Ft. Wilderness in an RV when my kids were young. It was awesome. We did not go to the parks many days, as River Country was open. We biked, swam, and loved it.
