Very cool thread. I guess I'll give it a go...

My name is Chris and I just joined the forum. I'm a 26 year old without pets or kids but I do enjoy spoiling my sister's kids. I was born and raised in South Louisiana, which makes me a proud Cajun! In college, I studied marketing and then got an MBA. I currently work for a multimedia company doing digital marketing and I'm enthralled with the field of digital marketing since it's always changing. But I'm definitely not the 'live to work' type, I'm more of the 'work to pay for Disney' type hah!

The only thing I love as much as Disney is sports. I'm a huge fan of almost all sports; from tennis, to soccer, to football, I watch it all. Being from Louisiana, I love my LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints and, New Orleans Pelicans (and lesser-known Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns). Being a huge sports and Disney fan, my ultimate professional goal is to work for ESPN in some capacity (got to have dreams, right?).

I've been a Disney fan for as long as I can remember. As a kid, all of my family vacations were to WDW and my obsession just started building from there. In 2001 my mother bought into the DVC and I couldn't have been more thrilled! Having the DVC membership has allowed me to go to WDW just about every other year. My friends and I have made very good use of the investment haha. I love taking friends who have never been and are skeptical about going to Disney as an adult. I've converted plenty into raging Disney fans! My favorite time to go to WDW is right between Thanksgiving and Christmas because of the weather, decorations, celebrations, etc. My next trip is in 63 days...can't wait!

I love talking Disney with other fans so if you have any questions or would just like to chat, please don't hesitate to drop me a line. Sorry for the lengthy post, us Cajuns tend to be pretty talkative!

I live in Virginia with my family and I am trying to open my own online business. I started loving Disney as a kid and even though I haven't been back to Disney world in such a long time which will change next year, I still love the movies and collect them and the figurines and so much more.

I like to say that Disney has contributed to a big part of my character in my growing years. In the fact that I believe in never growing up. Friends will say how much of a big kid I am but I really would not have it any other way.

I went to undergrad at Shenandoah University and studied religion. My High School was Bishop O'Connell. I dog sit and I babysit on the side.

I am also an online food blogger and a craft blogger. I am the creator of the facebook page Adults who love Disney.

Where in VA do you live? Ooo...and a new Disney FB page to like!! Thanks!

I did do a post on the intro page, but it wasn't very informative about my non-Disney life, so hear goes Smile

My real name is Holly. I call our youngest cat alicemouse because her name is Alice and she's a bigger chicken than I am. Plus two of my favorite characters are Alice and Minnie Mouse. I was a casual Disney fan from the day I was born, but it was a paper that I wrote in college defending Disney against claims that one of our Sociology professors made about Disney's negative impact on children's development, self-image, blah blah etc. that really kicked my interest in the company and its properties into overdrive.

I'm a native of Hanover, PA and my husband Benn is from College Park, MD. We met at Western Maryland/McDaniel College where I graduated in Economics, Business Admin, and Political Science and Benn graduated in English and Religious Studies. We moved around a lot before we figured out what works for us. In fact, we've owned 5 houses and rented 1 apartment in three different towns in two states at some point over our past 10 years together. It's a long and complicated story.

Benn's been doing paralegal work the whole time and he has also written several sci-fi/fantasy novels, but he isn't ready to try to publish anything yet. I started off our marriage working at the Federal Reserve in DC (that's what started all of the moving) for 3 years. Then we moved "home" (for me) and I coordinated the instructional gymnastics program at our local YMCA for 7 years. Now I have my real estate license and I have been selling full time for about 4 months, but I still coach two levels of our gymnastics team because I can't give up "my" kids.

We don't have any kids of our own (on purpose), but we do have three beautiful cats--Isabelle (fluffy, white, 7-years-old), Merlin (fluffy, black, 7-years-old), and Alice (calico, 1-year-old).

After our honeymoon, it took us 7 years to save up for/work up the courage to (LOL our honeymoon trip was not exactly the best trip anyone has ever had to Disney because we were operating on false assumptions and completely failed to do ANY research) go back to Disney. Now that life has stabilized, we head for the happiest place on Earth at every possible chance. We recently bought our first set of DVC points and despite the whole 2-hour flight thing, we are trying out an annual pass this year. My greatest Disney loves are parks, pins, drawing, movies, and researching/sharing tips & tricks with my friends and family. Benn's a huge Marvel/ Star Wars fan and the merger of my favorite things with his favorite things has been such a great thing for us.

Hello all! My name is obviously Corey, I'm 26 and my wife Michelle is 30. We live in Minnesota about 20 minutes south of the Twin Cities, but we are both originally from Milwaukee, Wi. We went to the same elementary school and she was in the same class with one of my older brothers, and her older brother was in the same class as my older sister so our families knew each other pretty well. My family moved to MN when I was 10, and thanks to Facebook we reconnected on there. When I was going to be in Milwaukee for a weekend I decided to see if she wanted to hang out while I was in town. She was too busy but we kept talking every day and 3 months later she moved to MN to live with me. 2 months after that we were engaged, and 8 months later in July of 2012 we got married! We have 2 dogs, an Australian Shepherd named Jordy (after the Packers WR), and a border collie mixed with something else named Minnie (because of our love for Disney, and she looks just like Jordy but is half the size). We are expecting our first child in March, a little girl named Penny. AND my parents have a dog named Bella! I thought I would throw that out there so I can fit in with everybody else haha.

I manage a RadioShack at a mall and own my own DJ company on the side, and Michelle is a Visual Manager at Macy's at the Mall of America. Since we are both well versed in retail we are always looking for jobs in WDW! I love sports, I'm a huge baseball and football fan, and I also enjoy watching Olympic Curling! I love music, played drums for a few years, and obviously do the DJ thing.

My love for Disney is thanks to my Dad. He is a huge fan of all the Disney classics like Davey Crocket and the original Mickey Mouse Club, and loves sharing his love for Disney with his kids, and now grand kids too. Growing up in that house it was hard to not become a Disney fan. We went to WDW a few times when we were all young (once while my mom was still pregnant with me) and always watched the home movies from our trips. Now I have a brother living in Orlando as a WDW VIP Tour guide, my sister is a Disney trip planner (totally free www.betweentheearstravel.com, sorry for the pub haha) and we all just love Disney, it brings our family together when it comes up.

Greetings all, handshakes, hugs where appropriate.

Strangely we feel as if we "know" most of you so here goes our introduction.

My name is Kevin and my wife is Kathy we live in middle Tennessee. I am a 52 year old Paramedic who no longer plays in the streets, I am now a full time Paramedic Instructor and Kathy is a paralegal. We have one son who joined the Air Force in August 2013, luckily after basic and other training assignments he was able to be at home last Christmas so the whole empty nest thing is fairly new to us.

This year will be our first Christmas without our son at home (he is stationed in the UK). We feel we have successfully transitioned to the empty nest and frankly have been having fun! (Wine tastings, cooking classes, weekend excursions, etc) In Feb we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary and we thought Disney World would be a great place to celebrate. We have been to the world 4 times with our son but this will be the first time it is just us.

My name is Nicole and my fiance is Ryan. We are both 23 years old and born and raised in South Louisiana. Ryan and I went to school together K-12. We dated in 3rd grade biggrin Thanks to facebook we reconnected a few years after we graduated. Ryan popped the question back in February and our wedding will be exactly one year from today. stars

I am an Assistant Head Teller at South Louisiana Bank. I have been with my company for 5 years now and I love it. Ryan is a Registered Nurse in the ER and is mighty cute in scrubs. muchlove

My first Disney experience was in May 2009. It was AMAZING and I totally fell in love. I came back home full of stories to share with my little sister, who is now 11. My goal since then was to take her and my Mom to Disney for their first ever trip. October 2012 I did just that! My Mom and Sister absolutely LOVED it!! My Dad is more of a hunting man than a Disney man so he didn't want to come with us. In July my Mom was diagnosed with Leukemia and we were all faced with lots of regrets. My Dad's biggest regret was not experiencing Disney with the rest of his family, so he promised my Mom that he would take her to Disney if she could only just kick cancers butt!! Well here we are just 4 months later and my Mom is cancer free!! yay Praise God!! She finished her last chemo treatment last week. So now I'm ready to plan our next trip!! We are planning to go in October or November 2015. This trip will be my Dad and Ryan's first trip!! I am so excited and I can't wait to go!! mickey

I'm Diane (36), my OH is Dave (43), we've been together for 11 years. Dave had been to WDW several times in the 90's, he introduced me to WDW in 2008, we've since been back in '08, '10, '12 and '13, we won't be back till 2015 sad

We're from London, England, I work at a Wildlife Rescue Charity and Dave is a supervisor at a factory where he drives a forklift.
We have no children but we love our 12 year old Jack Russell Toby who we've had for 10 years!

Pics below! I have no idea why Toby is upside down! He hasn't when I selected the photo! Naughty boy!

Hi Everyone. I typically don't like public speaking but, I will give it a whirl! Wink
My name is Sue, I am 41 years old and I come from Staten Island,New York. I am married to a 51 year old retired NYC Detective. I work as an Administrator in a State Agency and I teach Yoga several nights a week. I have been going back and forth to the World almost every year, since I am 6 years old. I have only been to Disney Land once and that was about 1 1/2 years ago. We love to travel and have recently tried Adventures by Disney Ireland. We are in LOVE! We are planning the California Adventure in January 2015.

We have no children and enjoy the opportunity to travel Disney with my 3 nieces when the opportunity is there. In 12 days we sail on the DREAM with my Mom Dad, brother, sis-in-law and my 3 gorgeous nieces. January 16th brings us to AKL for the first time and we are going to try the Sunrise Safari. Our favorite hotel as of today is the Boardwalk Inn. The folks that work in the Inn Keeper's Club are fantastic. We can now call them friends and bring them NY bagels every time we visit.

Here is a pic from a Disney Wedding we attended last Decemeber!

I'm glad that I found this discussion! My name is Jessica and I am 28 years old. My fiance Jake is 35, and we took our first trip to Disney together in Sept. last year. I work for a staffing agency in Troy, MI and am working on finishing my Bachelor's degree in Accounting. I did the College Program and Disney World in 2004 and it seriously was the BEST experience of my life. I met so many amazing people from all over the world, and working at the Happiest Place On Earth was pretty incredible as well.

Jake is an assistant manager for Verizon Wireless, which is how we met. We were both working there in Traverse City, MI. We have been dating for a little over 2 1/2 years. He proposed in March in Costa Rica while on vacation with his family. It was a complete surprise for me and probably the best day of my life (so far). We are getting married on August 2. I really wanted a Disney wedding, but since the budget did not allow for this we are getting married at the next best place. It is called Castle Farms and is absolutely stunning. I will be able to still have my fairytale wedding even if we are not in Disney.

Since we are not doing the wedding at Disney, we are planning on doing our honeymoon there! I am "patiently" waiting to hear if we can rent DVC points for our trip at the end of Sept. but if there is nothing available we will still be happy to be spending time together at my favorite place. I have been getting some wonderful tips and ideas from this forum so far, and look forward to continue getting to know all of you! yay
