Miss Mikki thanks for bumping this thread up again, gives me a chance to get on it.

Okay, so my name is Paul and my DW is Emma, and we're both huge Disney fans from Scotland. I work in IT for an Oil and Gas company(based in Houston) and DW works in retail. We've been married for 7 years now, loving every minute of it. When I was a kid I loved Disney movies and cartoons, I had a VHS of Dumbo and must have watched it a million times, my little brother had Mickeys Christmas Carol, again watched a million times. Growing up with cartoons like Duck Tales, Tail Spin, Gummi Bears as well as the other Disney classics I guess gave me a taste for the magic. But growing up and life get it the way, other things take priority and older things get forgotten and eased to the side. Well, our first trip to WDW was 2000, neither of us had been before and it was Emma's idea, I thought it would be ok but didn't really know what to expect. We'd been dating for a few years and I know she was the one, so bought the ring, asked her parents and planned to ask her when we were on vacation. Arrived in Disney and it blow my mind........ it brought back so many memories of childhood, it was just amazing to feel like that again, even better was getting to share it with Ems. So seven years pass without a trip to WDW but love for Disney remained and grew, we planned our including a few Disney items incorporated into it, and planned our honeymoon in WDW, same resort and even managed to get the same room(whole other story). Some seven years later, our home has Disney everywhere, several trips and another planned this year(more in the future) it's something that we enjoy andlove together.

So other than Disney my other passions are food, cooking, movies, TV and vacations to the U.S. Of course one of my big love are tattoos, so you knew I've got Disney covered on that front yay

That's my story pretty much, wow that seemed long, oops.

Oohh thanks for the bump, I too see so many names and it's great to get a little insight into who is speaking. With that said I would like to do my bit.

My name is Ruth and I'm 35, I have always lived in the south of England. My childhood only had a small Disney presence as my parents were not fans, however my 1st thing that we taped on our rented (!) video recorder was Mary Poppins, I also had the 2 12 inch LP read along story. This drove my mum insane because if I was not watching it I was listening to it and if I was not allowed to do that it was fine because I could recite it word for word hahaha! My 1st ever trip to the cinema was to watch the Jungle Book so that is a firm favourite too.
I have a 17 year old son who loves Disneyland Paris and all things Marvel, his bucket list includes going to a 'real' comic book store and getting his geek on. We have been to Paris 4 times when he was small and 5 times no he is not small (he's taller than me!) our thing is pin trading, we have been lucky enough to attend 2 events and plan to go to the next one (date to be announced shortly....). In 2015 we are also going on our 1st Disney cruise.
For work I used to be a medical rep but now I work as a business development manager for a pharmacy, my time is split between booking meetings and traveling to meet the Dr's. I have the south east corner of England as my 'patch' so I do a fair amount of driving.
My non Disney activities include craft - I love to make things, I knit, patchwork, make jewellery, pixel art and will try any other new craft at least once. I'm also learning to love sport, badminton being my favourite, I also go to a sport place for holidays where I have done a lot of exciting things like shooting, archery and dodgeball.
I no longer have a dog since I now live in a 1st floor flat and I believe dogs should be outdoors a lot, also with my lifestyle I'm not around enough to give a dog the right kind of attention. I have a horse Bryn he is now 23 and retired, I see him most days, he loves the sport of mud transference in the winter - it's not a sport I agree with and I'm sure he thinks it's funny! In the summer he tries to aid my fitness routine by playing 'how many times can you run around the field after me' - again not my favourite sport!

So that is me....

So here goes since I have not formally introduced myself to the forum members since joining about a year ago.

My name is Mike, as evidenced by my posting name LouisianaMike and you probably can figure out where I reside... Yup!! Louisiana.... About 20 miles north of New Orleans.. I'm 45 years old, and my wife three years my junior.

I'm married to my wonderful wife Meghan, which we have been married for almost 18 wonderful years. We have two beautiful and bright children, Brenden and Mia. They are ten and seven, respectively.. They are my joy in life and definitely keep me young at heart muchlove ..

I graduated college from Louisiana Tech University (Geaux Dawgs!!) with a undergraduate degree in Geology, and have a Masters degree in Marine Science.. I played college soccer and briefly as a semi-professional overseas in Germany. I currently work as a Geophysicist/Geologist for the Dept. of Navy (DoD) researching the world oceans and doing analysis of various oceanographic data we collect while at sea. I spend 2-3 months at sea per year, and have been practically all over the world. I genuinely love my job and can't wait to go to work each day. I've been doing this for about 20 years now for the Dept. of Navy. I am also a Army veteran and served during Desert Storm in Iraq back in 1990-91. During my tour of duty in the Army, I was stationed in Germany for 3 years and loved it.. Of course, I'm half German so it was great seeing all my relatives while there and even mom and dad moved to Germany while I was stationed there so that was very cool... awesome Anyway......

I first visited the Disney parks as an adult back in 2010, after a long break in between since my childhood (late 70's). I fell in love all over again with Disney, and have been an annual pass holder since. We have been averaging 25-30 days at the parks for the last 5 years, and loving every minute of it.. I can't imagine not going to the parks at least once a year. I'm definitely addicted to Disney, as are my kids, of course. mickey biggrin

I'm glad I found this forum last year. It's great to hear from folks like y'all that love Disney as much as I do, and have such a passion for all things Disney..

Hello. PJsLife here.

My name is PJ (which stands for Phyllis Jill) and I am 48 years old. I am originally from South Carolina but was raised a Navy Brat which means we moved every three years until my Dad retired in the late 70's and we returned to Goose Creek South Carolina for good, I was in the 7th Grade.

My Disney obsession began with RECORDS. Yes Vinyl records. Music Records or Read a Long books (Ding, turn the page!) and live action movies like Bed Knobs and Broomsticks. The first animated movie I remember was 101 Datamations ("She is going to KILLLL the puppies!!!! My poor Mom) and the Aristocats. I also have a rather OLD Winnie the Pooh Plush that I have had since I was 3 years old. We watched the Wonderful World of Disney on TV as well. (IN COLOR)

I have two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Social Science and Applied Computer Science. I moved to Georgia in 1990 with my now Ex-husband and remarried in 1997 to my forever husband Dave. We have zero kids, 2 cats. Dave had never been on ANY vacation until we went to Disney the 1st time and we have been hooked since. I had previously been in 1982 and 1984.

I currently work for a LARGE Natural Products Company based out of Utah. I am one of three people that manage the Point of Sale system for their 47 stores. I also volunteer for Dragon Con as the Kaleidoscope Track Director. Dragon Con is a large multi media convention in Atlanta. I run the Track for 9-13 year olds focusing on shows from Nickelodeon, Disney, Disney XD and Cartoon Network.

I have really enjoyed this forum for the positive and accepting atmosphere. A lot of places are not like that.

I've enjoyed all the bios! It's great to see other's passion for Disney. Hi, I'm Shelly. I'm 51 years old. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 33 years. We have 4 children and three grandchildren with a fourth due in June. I've been a stay at home mom our whole married life. We live in sunny Arizona. I grew up in California and spent many summer vacations at DL with my family and cousins. My senior year of high school I had the pleasure of going to Grad Nite with my graduating class and introduce DL to my best friend who had never been before. One of me and my husband's family traditions was to take a DL trip when each of our children turned 5 years old. Now that they are grown we like to go whenever the fancy hits us. I love seeing our grandchildren enjoying DL. I also love going to DL with just my husband. It's more relaxing and we can sit and enjoy the street performers. My daughter and her husband are thinking of going with their children in early December this year and they usually invite us to go to be the babysitters. They tried it once without us and that wasn't as much fun. We've been to DLP, but didn't get to spent much time there, but still loved it. My husband surprised me with an anniversary trip to WDW a few years ago. It was supposed to be a surprise, but told me so I could have the fun in planning what we'd do. Still it was a great gesture. Our youngest daughter did the college program at WDW for one semester. My husband and I took a trip to see her and take advantage of the perks of having a CM in the family. I've got to say that, that was the cheapest WDW trip I've ever taken. We are in the process of planning our next trip to WDW for our 35 year wedding anniversary. We've announced to all our children to save the date in 2017 for the all expense paid trip. They just have to get themselves there. So I guess it's not all expenses paid, but you get the idea. Suffices to say that we all love Disney, some more than others, but we all love going to the parks and being together as a family.

First off, I want to say to those who have served and/or have family members or loved ones currently in the armed forces, thank you for your service. It's really interesting to hear and read all the different bios. With that said, I'll add mine to the mix.

I'm Jeff and I'm probably one of the youngest members here having turned 24 last month. I've lived in NJ my entire life and have never moved. I am the middle child of three siblings. Graduated college last May with a Bachelor's in history and right now, looking for employment. (It's not easy, that's for sure.) My Disney fanaticism started as a kid with the giant VHS collection of Disney movies and I saw a lot of the great animated classics growing up. As a kid, my favorites were definitely ones involving male leading characters. The Lion King was my absolute favorite as a kid. But I also loved Peter Pan, Robin Hood and the Sword in the Stone. I also watched a lot of the Disney TV shows like Gargoyles, Recess and Doug to name a few. Flash forward to the adolescent days and early teens, Disney was not an interest of mine until one day when I was 14, I watched the Little Mermaid for the first time in years and I ended up really enjoying it. It gave me a greater appreciation of Disney movies and that's when I started learning about the iconic Disney figures like Alan Menken, the Sherman brothers, Jodi Benson and such as well as the deeper meanings of songs and going in-depth in terms of the characters and their personalities. I also do enjoy some of the live action movies, mainly the sports movies like Miracle and Remember the Titans.

As for the theme parks, well, I was brought to both Disneyland and Disney World at a fairly young age but I have no recollections from either trip. (One day, I will make an "official" visit to Disneyland out west because it's not official if I don't remember it!). Went to Disney World for a second time so that my youngest brother could see Disney back in 2001, I believe, but we didn't do much and it was not memorable in my book. The worst of the worst moment was that I had a bad case of diarrhea that held back my entire family from visiting the Magic Kingdom for quite some time. 8 years later, as a HS senior, I returned to Disney World on a class trip with a revitalized passion for Disney and I enjoyed it very much. I got to do character meet and greets for the first time, go on the great classic attractions, and I got to do whatever I wanted. I went back in 2010 and 2013 and I've been going solo ever since. Words can't describe how much I enjoy doing Disney solo. There's no family pressure to do everything together, no one will hold back in terms of attraction restrictions or mockery in wanting to do certain activities over others. Money is tight so I am refraining from a future Disney trip in the near future but even if I did have enough money, I would still refrain from spending it on a Disney World trip and wait until certain attractions are added and/or completed and until I have absolute trust in the Magicbands and FP+. As mentioned earlier, I want to do an official visit to Disneyland in California one day and the sooner, the better! And I have a moderate interest in doing a Disney Cruise one day, as well.

Other than talking about Disney World, well, I am definitely a super sports fan. I follow and support the Yankees, New York Giants and the New Jersey Devils as well as Arsenal Football Club in the English Premier League. I do follow NASCAR and watch a race every now and then. Team 24 aka Jeff Gordon was my favorite as a kid and still is my favorite NASCAR driver. Besides sports, I do love to travel. I've been to Cancun, China, Taiwan, Costa Rica, a Mediterranean cruise to Italy, Greece and Turkey, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, and three trips to Canada (Toronto on a day trip, British Columbia and Alberta with a tour group, Nova Scotia on a cruise.). I really want to visit London, take another trip to DC (Though I've been three times already but haven't been back since 8th grade.), see more of New York City (Strangely enough, I've never been to Brooklyn despite going to New York many times!), visit Chicago and possibly visit Ireland and/or France.

So that's pretty much my bio.

My Mum's side of the family are all from that area of London, I get told off for not being a sports fan but I do get off the tube at the station with the Arsenal shop and I do walk past the Emirates stadium on my way to see my great Aunt (unless I am allowed to get off at my favorite tube shop and walk past the vintage style designer dress shop!)

If you ever need anything from there give me a shout, I go at least 3 or 4 times a year.

Ok, in for a penny, in for a pound as they say....

My name's Sid and I'm from SW London. I currently work in IT, looking after Apple equipment in the media sector (it's the 'Big Bad' over in the UK...) I also moonlight in front of the cameras, now a 'veteran' of being a walking prop in several movies and tv shows - whilst I have no wish to become much more than a face in the background, I do find it interesting to see how films and tv shows are made and why they decide to cut so much of what they film.

Outside work and moviemaking, I enjoy motorsport - mostly F1 but have followed US racing when it was originally Champ Car/CART and the occasional rally and have raced the odd kart in the past...before I got a little too heavy to be much more than a competitive heart with a heavy body! Football, rugby, tennis all follow but usually the big event games and tournaments. Whilst I keep an eye on the Premier League, I can't really confess to following too much more than shouting at the tv every time England promise much but deliver poorly! I like photography and have shot off when walking with friends and family when I spot something I think will be good to shoot - I tend to look for vivid colours and like shadows and strong contrasts in colours. However, I'm still learning when it comes to taking what I think are good photos and how to process them correctly. Thankfully, Disney also incorporates Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel, more of my fav things with the comics and collectables...I really have to lock my wallet away at times when I see stuff I wanna buy!

Earliest memories of Disney...I guess would be my Uncle taking me to see Bambi on one of its many reruns at the cinema in the 70s. My first paypacket from a Saturday job went on the first VHS release of Pinocchio - a whole PS30 at the time!! O_o

My first visit to Disney World came in 1988 as a reward for completing my exams. This was at a time when there was only Magic Kingdom and EPCOT...I remember my younger brother chasing the water jets around at EPCOT and having my portrait painted by a robot. Captain EO was so cool back then - less so now, but I am a lot older now! Since then, I've made 4 more visits to Florida and Disney World but was thwarted in my recent West Coast visit when my only spare day to visit Disneyland was eaten up by a plan change...Sad I'm taking a year off from visiting 'The House of Mouse' this year but hope to join the big meet in 2016...gives me a chance to save my money!!

Well that's me for now. If you'd like to know more, ask or click the link to find me on Fb...

Wow, these are fun to read!!! Goose Creek had me in a flash lol... ok, here is my rundown

Hi! I'm JMed, Jennifer, Jenny, Jen and JHo. Just turned 40 as many of you know, spent a week in WDW for it! I was born and raised in Sweet Home Alabama and I have lived in the south my entire life including GA, NC, and FLA. My DH is Joe who is 39. (Jan 11 was our 1 year anniversary!) Blondie (Abigail) is about to turn 8 in February.

We live in Charleston SC (I HATE HUMIDITY) I work for a eye doctor who travels. We are only on the road 2 days a week but we see a ton of patients and it makes for very long stressful days. I have been there 3 years now. Joe is in security and coaches hockey for a local high school and a travel team. Plus side to the travel team, fun trips.... Smile We get to visit my 2nd favorite place, DC again in March with the team!!! We travel a lot. If we can ever get me on a plane again, we would travel more!

Honestly, I can't remember where my first obsession with Disney came from. I do remember rewinding Beauty and the Beast over and over and over and over. I collected every Disney VHS (now have all the DVDs) I have a VERY OLD Mickey that I got when I was about 5. My first trip was in '90 something, we were going to Tampa to see a Paul McCartney concert and spent a couple days at Disney, I don't even remember where we stayed. There were a couple trips here and there after that. Then my friend had her wedding there in '03. This is when my true love for the world started. I couldn't wait to get back. Unfortunately I was married to someone who not only did not care for it but was a pretty awful person.

Fast forward a few years to meeting Joe, we met... wait for it... on... Facebook! He was a friend of a friend and saw me in her profile pic laugh We started dating, I planned a trip to Disney for Blondie's 6th birthday, he tagged along and my obsession has grown since.

We are going on our first Disney cruise in 9 days eek and just got our congratulations letter for DVC. We are just waiting on a closing date. We've talked about it the last couple years. We went for the whole shebang tour and talk in November and he surprised me in December telling me he made an offer. We went resale and will be home at AKL! I can't believe it!!!!

Anywho, I hope Blondie learns to love and appreciate it as much as me. I have a nephew who just turned one in October and they are expecting in March also!!! I CAN NOT WAIT to take those boys to see Mickey!!!

I can go on cause I tend to be an open book! So I will stop for now! It's been great year getting to know you all on here!

Not every day but I go often since my parents still live in Goose Greek. I graduated from GCHS in 1984. I remember when the only things IN Goose Creek were the Pizza Hut and the Burger Chef and Birchadore Skate Rink. I will let you know when I am headed to the Creek.

Awesome!

Nice to know there is another F1 crazy here! I can't say I'll follow the Ferrari, even if I drive an Italian car....Smile

A lot of places are not like that.

are you in Goose Creek now?????????? I'm in North Charleston! Went to school in Goose Creek (Stratford)

ok wait, I was too excited and posted fast... just read the rest LOL but how cool! Not many people know Goose Creek

Not every day but I go often since my parents still live in Goose Greek. I graduated from GCHS in 1984. I remember when the only things IN Goose Creek were the Pizza Hut and the Burger Chef and Birchadore Skate Rink. I will let you know when I am headed to the Creek.

Awesome!

Yes, let me know for sure!

Outside work and moviemaking, I enjoy motorsport - mostly F1 ...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Formula 1 or F1. I am one of those crazies who gets up at 2 am in the US just to watch a live race that will be replayed later in the day.

Much like Luigi from Cars: "PJ follow only the Ferraris."

Nice to know there is another F1 crazy here! I can't say I'll follow the Ferrari, even if I drive an Italian car....Smile

As long as you follow F1 - I love ya! muchlove
