Love this site!

I have never done a forum/blog before this one. And I have never been to any of the other Disney blogs/forums. I was surfing facebook tonight and discovered a fb page for annual passholders so I decided to have a look. Oh my goodness, what a mistake! Apparently there was a huge snafu on Disney's part for the annual passholder preview for Fantasyland. Oh my, the name calling and anti-Disney vibes were very strong! There was some good mixed in from some satisfied passholders, but most of the people were mad mad mad. They were even bickering back and forth with each other and just not nice at all.
My point is that I love this site so much, and have grown fond of all of you. You all are so supportive and appreciative and sincere, and I didn't realize what a special site this is. I have heard bad things about other sites, but now I have experienced it first hand. It sure makes me appreciate all of you even more! And these were Disney Annual Passholders, so disappointing!
Thank you all for enhancing our Disney experience, and for being such nice, kind people. I am lucky to have found this site first before being jaded by others that are not so nice. This site has the Disney Magic!

Yay for us! Yay for you being here!!

We're also an excellent group of enablers. If you are on the fence on whether you need something or need to do something Disney but are afraid what others might think or say, we are right here for you to tell you you need it or need to do it and you are perfectly normal and sane! Smile

And we will eat cupcakes in your honor at the drop of a hat. That's just the kind of people we are... Tongue

Just think of us as your support group. We enjoy supporting each other in our love of all things Disney. I will be decorating my home starting this coming weekend and I have to go to Walgreens to find all the neat stuff that Jeff found. I certainly hope they have it here in PA.

Julie...I whole heartedly agree! This is only my second attempt at blogging..
the first was on a cruise forum (non disney)..and I was shocked how quickly
things turned mean for what seemed like innocent questions....the people
make the site....and the people on this site are awesome!

Zz I wholeheartedly agree that none of us at this site are enablers eek but seriously it really is the people of this site that make it what it is, from admin and Brad both of whom we rarely see lately and that is because the site takes such good care of itself, the few people behind the scenes who are working hard to get rid of the spammers, and keep track of the VERY few inappropriate posts that occur. I for one am very proud and happy to be a member of this forum.

muchlove Awwww... we're so glad to have you here with us all!

We really do have an amazing group of people in this forum, everyone is friendly, helpful and pretty open-minded. I think it's the open minded part that makes it really special here. Many of the other boards are "my way or the highway" environments and that's not very magical if you have a differing opinion. And as much as the negative anti-Disney discussions are discouraging, I also have trouble with people who refuse to believe Disney could ever do anything wrong. Most people in these parts acknowledge that Disney tries harder than most companies to go above and beyond, but sometimes mistakes happen and that's just life.

The site owners, staff and moderators work hard every day trying to make sure that things run smoothly and all the news and interest stories get posted in a timely manner and the conversations on the boards just roll right along. It's a labor of love. And yes! We have cupcakes muchlove

I totally agree. Everyone here tries to be helpful, and I am always amazed at the depth of knowledge available. This is the first forum I ever felt comfortable joining, and I did so after lurking for a few months here and at sites that will remain nameless. I couldn't believe the nastiness and venom out there!

Kristen, you are fabulous at helping with logistics, etc. Need to know how to get somewhere? Ask Kristen! Need to know where something is? Ask Kristen! Or Mr. Hub, or Jeff, or Mase, or any other member of this forum. And even if you've answered that same question a hundred times already, you never make us newbies feel silly for asking. Mr. Hub has helped me edit photos, and Zapper's photos just make me happy. I love reading everyone's trip reports - it helps to get me through the dismal, snowy weather. If I can't be at Disney World, I can at least enjoy someone else's trip. I love reading your posts and stories Joe - I wish everyone could have what you and Jan had.

Anyway, that is my long-winded way of saying thanks to everyone here for being you. I think this is a special group, and I'm so happy to call you all friends.

I love you all and think of you as my second family. I could hang out with any of you and it would be like I had known you forever. That was proven on our last trip when we spent so much time with Mr.hub, Jessi and Scrappy

Yeah but not all passholders are like that. That's just a facebook page. That happens everywhere on facebook. Make sure you were on the Official Passholders page, but still we do have one AWESOME Forum here!

I agree that I've found this site to be one of the friendliest, most supportive, loveliest places on the web!! I actually stopped coming on here for a while simply because I got busy, and because I was blogging for a wedding site that got very mean very fast--many people could absolutely not understand why I would want to have a Disney wedding!! I am so appreciative of the community here--and I love the "enabling!" You all make me feel great: albeit way too excited for my next trip (land/sea Disney honeymoon!!!) Is it May 5th yet? mickey

So I tried the Passholders page/site again, and this time they were complaining about Disney reducing the premium pass holders discount from 20% to 10%. Oh the vile comments, so unDisneylike, I had to leave and will not return. I will stay in my happy Disney bubble with all my crazy Disney buddies here at WDWFG! Hope to meet some of you sometime.

Julie you are so correct, and a lot of the other Disney web site are like that. They are enablers in the complaining department. I honestly don't think this community would stand for someone if they started doing such things here. Now we all have our little gripes about things, and we talk them over here and that's it. I think the members here all love Disney to the point that, if ticket prices go up, they take away perks from DVC, they change hours here and there, we are all still gonna go to WDW or DL, or on a cruise or what ever! I signed up on several other sites but never really had a desire to even post a comment after reading some of the threads.

Mrhub I think what what set us apart is that we are GROWN UPS! We may disagree but we keep it civil and we can laugh and smile!

I think that's the thing that's different here. We talk them over, try to see things in a broader perspective, and appreciate that it's largely out of our control. We don't just gripe for the sake of causing a fuss. Everyone here is so supportive, even when Disney has done something that we question.

I love that sentiment subvetss, I still have 5 years before I am a proper grown-up! clapping

I have seen Disney from the inside as a cast member and from the outside as a guest. I even had a Disney wedding! I think that the thing that sets Disney apart is that if something goes wrong they try to put it right for the guest and that is what makes it magical! It is a shame that some visitors look for things to moan or complain about instead of just enjoying the magic.

My parents were booked into the Polynesian for a week for our wedding. When they were shown their room, it had not been cleaned and the furniture was broken. They said it looked as though the room had not been used for months. They complained (in a nice way). Disney management totally agreed with them about the room and upgraded them to a MK view in Hawaii club level. It was amazing! So if you are pleasant and give Disney a chance to make things right, they normally do.
