MyMagic+ Yes or No?

So BuffaloBill and I are going to WDW 12/29 1and 12/30 after our 3 day cruise on the Dream. I got notice yesterday that we have the opportunity to participate in MyMagic+. mickey
I'm nervous to try it for such a short visit at the busiest time of the year. I don't want to spend 40 minutes in line at guest services for glitches! eek
What do you think - should we give it a go or pass on it for this trip? mickey
Thanks for your input!

I think that as every day goes by there are less and less glitches occurring as they get ironed out and there are very few glitches left (I hope crossfingers ) so I would go for it.

Go for it. Most people have had a nice time with the new system. Most of the glitches are gone. We are practically live with the new system.

My DH and I used MyMagic+ for one day at Epcot when we got off the Disney Dream. Worked like a charm. No issues at all!

We have just returned from 2weeks in the Disney and we had no issues with the MB's. They worked great in the parks for Fast Pass, meals, entry into the parks and resort room key. They're comfortable and fit well, which was the thing I was most worried about, but absolutely no issues at all.

I was a bit dubious about booking our Fast Passes in advance, but really worked well and it meant we didn't need to rush first thing as soon as we got into the park for that all important ride and THM has already removed it's 'paper' FP's, probably more attractions will follow soon.

Yeah... Just check out our video from our trip report. We love them. They have made this trip much more relaxing. We had fast passes for Epcot today and changed them to MK tonight because of rain. I highly recommend them.

Love love love fast pass+ and the magic bands... They have made everything so much easier and magical and if you have the app on your phone it's so easy to change your fast passes if needed

YAY YOU!! We also decided yes for our January trip. We had a small blip when choosing FP+ on our disney experience. The last day DH was "no eligible" for FP+. I called the IT number and the were quick to correct the issue and it showed up on our experience.

Enjoy the bands! awesome

So yes - I went on the website and attempted to order MagicBands.....I won't go into the gory details - but 25 minutes later while on hold with DVC (14 minute wait)....I managed to link our reservation, register our PAPs, and personalize our Magic Bands! Hope they get the website running smoother soon! waiting

We had a lot of trouble getting our DVC reservation and PAP linked also, but once the kinks were worked out of the links (see what I did there?), it had been pretty much smooth sailing with scheduling FastPass+, ADR's, etc. Our bands arrived on time, in the correct colors, and labeled correctly. We'll see what happens next Saturday!!

I think BoBo means The Haunted Mansion, but I don't ever remember that ever having fastpasses. I know there is a FP+ kiosk there though.

That's what I'm thinking and they never had fastpass for that attraction until fastpass+ came out with it.

Our Magic Bands arrived on Monday, can the pictures be far behind.

I am going to start wearing mine now. How do I link it to my E-Z Pass for tolls, and will it open the security doors at work???

So far there is only one Etsy seller offering a magic band covers.... http://www.etsy.com/listing/161885349/autism-awareness-magic-band-sleeve?ref=shop_home_active

I'm late to the party, but I'm glad you all got the Magic Bands. I haven't had any issues OTHER than the fact that it becomes SO easy to charge stuff back to your room. I mean, it was easy before, but now it's just a tap of the wrist!! Danger for those of us who like to shop!! Smile

There's a cure for that.... don't attach a credit card. works like a charm. Smile

Bit of a silly question but are magical bands no longer optional and you have to get them? Just interested in finding out for my trip next year...

They are still in the testing stage and the full implement of the Magicbands has been pushed back some, but Disney is stating you will always have the option of using a Key to the World card (as of right now), but things can change at anytime with Disney.

I just linked our annual pass vouchers to our MyDisneyExperience and while doing that, it had a message at the bottom of the page that If for some reason we wanted to use the Keys to the World card instead, I just needs to call guest services and they would assist me and make arraignments to have cards available upon arrival.

I can not ever see them doing totally away with the cards for now at least.

Now the problem we ran across was that our annual passes expire the day before we get to WDW IN January. Fastpass+ came up saying I could make fastpass selections but I could only make them for the first two days of our trip. If I tried to make more selections, it would say I needed a valid ticket for entry into the parks to make more selections. I called and renewed our passes, they sent voucher cards to redeem our new passes when we get there in January. There is a number on the back of the card which I entered into the link a pass/ticket page and BAM! That shows as a valid pass for after January 24 when our current passes expire. I can now make all the fastpass selections.

We were issued magic bands and kttkc upon check in...after our issues with them..we had a new magic band but no
kttkc..the manager told us monday dec 2nd had been the last days for kttkc's........it was magic bands or nothing.
This was for all star sports....not sure if this was world wide or resort wide. I did ask for our de activated kttkc back to
Keep as a souvenir and he returned them to us.

We loved the MagicBands. The simple fact that I didn't have to fumble around trying to find my kttkc to get into the park or remember what I did with my fp ticket were reason enough for me to love them. For us, they worked like a charm, but there are definitely some kinks to iron out. We talked to two other groups who had done split stays (shout out to MagicMirror!) and the technology is definitely not handling this situation properly.

Also, the system can create a clone account depending on who is "in charge" of making selections and whether you set up your traveling party to be subordinates of the planner or invite them to engage in planning also. (I don't know how to explain that better and frankly, neither does Disney. That's why they haven't fixed it yet.)

Finally, there really needs to be a way to link your discounts to your band so you don't have to dig 15 cards out of your wallet every time you make a purchase. There's no reason that TIW, AP, and DVC discounts can't be applied automatically. If my pin# is secure enough to identify me for charging purposes, then it should be secure enough for Disney to trust that I am the person using my discount.

Actually Pop Century is no longer handing out KTTWC. They were the first resort to do away with them.

Here is a couple articles that Doctor Disney has put up:
