Never Again Going That Month..!

This is a kinda funny question, but you know me folks, so here goes...Now we are rookies when it comes to Disney vacations with only six under our belt..Our first five were all in the month of July and August ( due to UK school holidays ) So while my wife and I watched last nights independence fireworks via the web, it brought back memories of our two vacations when we were there during that time..But last year was our first in October and we loved it much more than our July/August trips..So much that next year we have booked October once again...I reckon we would never book another Disney trip in the July/August period ever again..The main reason for this is the South American tour groups..I can handle the heat ( jeez, that's why us scots come to Florida for the sun ) The thunder storms were a hoot...The humidity was no problem...But although I loved their enthusiasm, those kids wore we down..Yes if we saw 100 of them heading to HM then we would detour somewhere else..So question time..Is there a month that you have been to Disney that you would never do again..?...And why.?..

I'll never say never Wink , but July and August (in my opinion) are probably the worst months to visit WDW. Large crowds, extreme heat & humidity, and the erratic weather, if I go, I stay close to my resort beach . I'll take Dec any day over those two month, at least the weather is nice and it's decorated for the holidays Santa

Cheers

If I have a chance to go to Disney, I'll go any month, but I would rather it be between Sept and June.

Well I would have to say September. Last year was so hot and uncomfortable we swore we would never go in September again. We hid out in our room most afternoons. This year we are trying out November. Next year maybe October.

We go at the end of August. Although it's very hot I have limited vacations by being a teacher. We like it a lot though because all of the southern schools are back in session and we've never seen big tour groups. It's not too crowded but lots of things are still going on.

In a perfect world though I'd go in September or October. But not until I retire or find a different job!

It would take some convincing to get me to go over a major US holiday--namely Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Easter. We did New Year's 2003/2004 and we were not impressed. Way too many folks trying to share the same space. Some of them rather aggressively. I much prefer to travel when others prefer not to travel. mickey

This isn't a case of "never go again," but I have never and will never go during the summer or any school holidays. Don't like crowds at all. I also hate the heat - but in spite of that I would go again in September and just take afternoon breaks because the lines that time of year are wonderfully short and the room rates are about as low as they get.

Summer! I only went once when I was a kid and even then I did not like the heat at all. I am a fall girl all the way!

Late April. We went for a quick little 5 day stint in late April a few years ago, just something quick because we were needing a Disney fix.

It seemed like a great time - all the kiddies were back in school after Spring Break, but no one was out on summer holidays yet, the weather was mild and not too warm or too humid, it wasn't storm season so there wasn't much worry of anything being cut short due to monsoon... But there was cheerleaders.

I get it. In the States they have a real thing for cheerleaders. Schools have them from middle school and up - national competitions and the like. We don't really have those up here in the frigid, white north... But I get it!

We made the mistake of staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort while the nationals were going on at the ESPN World of Sports complex... And it was from dawn till dusk dodging pre-teen girls that were adorable, yet just way too perky for me first thing and last thing in the day. Plus they were a bit like those South American tour groups you'd mentioned - roving around the parks in packs of heavy perfume and squealing.

Maybe I'm getting old or something, but I can't handle it.

I have been in March( Spring Break with students) crowds not bad and temps for a Texas girl were great. Then because I am a teacher, we as a family have only been able to go in June, July or August.... it's hot, it's crowded but with good planning it has all been manageable....
We are taking our first Fall trip in November and are really looking forward to cooler temperatures and lower crowds, but hoping it doesn't spoil us for the big family trip in the summer of 2016. I would not want to go during a big holiday, but I think as long as we get to go....I can make any month work laugh

I've only ever gone in Sept, except for one time with hubby's family in May. Loved them both. I wouldn't want to go in the summer (too hot, too crowded) or over a major holiday (too crowded). Any other time of year would be ok, though.

I'd go any month, but prefer it warm with kids in school.

Not ALL of the states are really into cheerleading. It's mostly a southern school thing...along with dance teams and HS football. Sure there are some competitions up in the northern states here but NOTHING like in the south. It's hardcore down there. Neither my HS or college had decent or serious cheerleading teams (Both is NY state).

I can imagine the cheerleading crowds being a little "much". I respect their sport a lot but I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time at the parks with big hoards of them.

More injuries in cheerleading than football. Rough competition.

It's March for me. I think if you're stuck with Christmas break, summer break or Spring Break, then Spring Break is the best of the worst. I understand in some states, Spring Break varies because of snow days and whatnot. In March, it's crowded but not extremely crowded and manageable. Still, I want a change from my last three trips. Plus I like watching March Madness at home thank you very much. I'll never visit WDW during the summer months. The really big crowds and humidity would melt me down completely. Idealistically, I would always go during October or early November.

Have you ever caught the cheerleading competition where it's only one guy and one girl and he basically just throws her all up in the air and around while she does splits and jumps and other crazy stuff. It's amazing!
